We found Salisbury a charming city and the Cathedral was well worth a visit, the guides were very knowledgeable but allowed you to look round at you leisure.

“History and splendor”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

At night, in the early morning, this cathedral shimmers - take a walk all around the close and out through the fields - it's worth the view from all corners.

“Magnificent”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

An enormous structure which was unfortunately swathed in scaffolding when we visited. Nonetheless, it's scale is breathtaking and it was worth the short walk from our hotel to see it.

“Lots of history, Magna Carta”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

The Magna Carta room was the highlight for me. It was incredible to see one of only four remaining copies of the seminal document in the history of the world. The Cathedral also features the oldest working clock, apparently, and some banners from Wiltshire regiments. Stained glass, vaults and organ are fantastic. Have previously enjoyed Evensong also. Did not like being asked to make a donation on entry. Entry price fine, voluntary donation fine. Being asked and that too aggressively, not good.
