We wanted a room with two beds and got a cozy one. We accepted that the window was giving to the road - a source of occasional noise until late at night from the inevitable puberal motorists who need to impress the world with massive rumpus from their tuned vehicles. Further, we were lucky to have a pleasant guest in the neighbouring room.We could not hear him much but felt his heavy steps. The age of the building certainly cannot be hidden - thin walls were standard and transmission of vibrations not considered a problem at the time of construction. We slept fairly well anyway.
Breakfast was not included in the room and for £ 10.-- each we got a simple, definitely not exuberant breakfast. As far as parking is concerned, as we stayed only one night we were not offered one of the few parking spaces and had to leave our car on a nearby public parking space. The location of the Hotel is its greatest asset and yes, the staff behaved correctly, the male ones were even friendly.
