We only stayed one night at this guesthouse but would have been happy to stay more days! The staff were very friendly and the room was both clean and large with a lovely outlook towards the cathedral. The breakfast was quite good with plenty to choose from. We appreciated the tea/coffee making facilities in the room, something we had not come across in all our travels through Europe (except a Mercure near an airport in Germany). The bathroom didn't have the fiddly little heat/water pump contraption that some other places in England had so that was a bonus too.

Room Tip: A room at the front of the building, which we had, gives you a nice little view over the town towards the cathedral

after a rough crossing by ferryboat, thank you for the welcome and comfort, a typical English home, the rooms are beautiful, our host Barbara smiling and very very helpful, all near the center of the city and its famous cathedral. a great bike ride to Stonehenge in a small drizzle
We highly recommend this hotel "British".

We started our stay in the new wing to rear of house, lovely and cosy and quiet except for bathroom fan audible from adjacent en suite.
Decided to extend our stay and was transferred to a room above the main entrance.
This was spotlessly clean but the single glazed wooden framed sash windows were no match for the December weather! We could hear the main door but only at reasonable times.
Luckily I travel with a hot water bottle, this combined with a couple of blankets from the wardrobe meant I was able to prevent myself chilling, but you may not be so lucky.
The full and veggie breakfast was delicious every morning (an extra on top of room rate), lots of coffee and types of tea available, and cleanliness was exceptional throughout.
We would return as the location was great and our niggles very minor.

Room Tip: Rooms in the old part are colder than modern double glazed rooms. Wi Fi available only in front rooms and lounge.

This is a lovely guest house. The rooms have ample space with everything you require. Barbara is very nice and can't do enough for you. The Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious, I definetly recommend the cooked breadfast!! Parking is on site and off the road, which is sometimes hard to find in this area, an excellent feature to the Guest House.

I would definitely stay at Byways again, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Stayed here for a friends birthday, there were 9 of us and they were very accomodating. We were all put in family rooms which were very nice and comfortable. Its very noisey in the mornings, so no lie in!! There is plenty of parking. Its tucked away in the back streets of Salisbury but its only a 5-10 minute walk into the centre so its a great location. Would stay here again.
