Description: The Cathedral's Refectory Restaurant is open Monday to Saturdays from 9.30Am to 5.30Pm and Sundays from 10.00Am to 5.00Pm (except Christmas Day). This unique glass-roofed area provides a wonderful space in which to relax, meet up with friends and enjoy food and drink, with views of the spire soaring 123m (404 ft) above you. It offers a self-service buffet selection of homemade cakes and pastries throughout the day, Fair-trade coffee, fresh leaf tea, a selection of sandwiches, rolls and panini, afternoon tea - and plenty more besides. Freshly prepared hot lunches and homemade soup are served from midday through until 2.00Pm. 'Early bird' and 'cream tea specials' are available. Families with young children are always welcome at the restaurant, with a "Monster bag" selection menu for younger children. There are also books and a children's play table to help keep youngsters entertained whilst you enjoy your refreshments.

“Evening with WOW factor”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

If you want an evening venue that's a bit different with amazing atmosphere and has the WOW factor then you can't go wrong with this restaurant. Spent a wonderful evening here with 60 plus friends. The transformation from daytime to night time is amazing. Crisp white tablecloths ,flowers and flickering candles reflected in the glass ceiling. The food was fantastic served by professional friendly staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for an evening to remember. Thank you to Manager Kevin Oborne for making our event so special . Josephine and Darrell

“Decent food with a great view”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

We stopped in the Refectory for a snack to fortify ourselves for the climb up the Salisbury Cathedral tower. The food offerings were fresh, if not that exciting. My husband had a cheddar scone (tastes just like Red Lobster!) and I had a hummus sandwich. But we both enjoyed gaping up through the conservatory glass roof at the view of the cathedral soaring above us. Pretty stunning way to pass 15 minutes.

“Fairly Average food impressive setting”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Best thing about this place is the location and stunning view of the spire. Customers are probably mainly passing tourists. Food and drinks are OK but nothing special; relatively expensive but fairly average café food. Tea is very odd. Toilets tiny and inadequate (and usually dirty) but in process of being improved. Worth visiting for the setting but not the food or drinks.

“Great place to meet for Coffee”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

On Monday morning I met a friend here she had a Cappuccino and I had a Spire Special hot chocolate with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and half a flake! It cost £5.20.
The glass roof means that you can look up and see the Spire towering above you.

“Your average café, just with a skylight”
Reviewed 10 July 2013 via mobile

This is a nice place to stop and have a bite to eat. They do a great hot chocolate with all the toppings. The room itself is very open and light, with a skylight revealing the architecture of the cathedral. It's pretty average and can get very crowded so get there early.
