Description: The Cathedral's Refectory Restaurant is open Monday to Saturdays from 9.30Am to 5.30Pm and Sundays from 10.00Am to 5.00Pm (except Christmas Day). This unique glass-roofed area provides a wonderful space in which to relax, meet up with friends and enjoy food and drink, with views of the spire soaring 123m (404 ft) above you. It offers a self-service buffet selection of homemade cakes and pastries throughout the day, Fair-trade coffee, fresh leaf tea, a selection of sandwiches, rolls and panini, afternoon tea - and plenty more besides. Freshly prepared hot lunches and homemade soup are served from midday through until 2.00Pm. 'Early bird' and 'cream tea specials' are available. Families with young children are always welcome at the restaurant, with a "Monster bag" selection menu for younger children. There are also books and a children's play table to help keep youngsters entertained whilst you enjoy your refreshments.

“Glorious setting outstanding, welcome warm, star baking”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

We poften have coffee and hot choc (with marshmallows) here before or after cathedral services (daughter a chorister). Baking is the real treat here, massive muffins, gooey chocolate treats, super scones, perfect paninis, moreish milkshaked. I would prefer them to service more soup in the winter, but am being picky. An added treat is the cathedral shop adjacent to tempt you. One of the best cathedral refectories in the UK, right up there with Winchester. Get yourself a loyalty card and build up to a free coffee.

“Lovely lunch in a fabulous setting”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

Our first trip to Salisbury and it was a miserable day, cold and rainy. We decided to stop for lunch at the Cathedral Refectory and so glad we did. The refectory was warm and welcoming, offering fresh cooked hot food, soup and sandwiches as well as some lovely home made cakes. The poached salmon and rocket sandwiches were a joy to eat, as were the home made bread pudding and chocolate brownie. Definitely worth a visit. Plus the view of the cathedral spire through the glass ceiling is amazing.

“Good place to eat before or after the Cathedral visit”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

My husband and I ate here about 2pm on Sunday 27th October after a visit to the cathedral. A nice meal, and the view through the ceiling alone is worth the cost of the meal.

Also backs onto the Cathedral gift shop which we spent some ££ at.

A thoroughly enjoyable day.

“Spiretacular”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

This is much better than the bog-standard attraction café. Wonderful view of the cathedral spire through the glass celling. Bakery products were all very good, fresh and tasty and tea/coffee up to the mark. Very cheerful and helpful staff who are a credit to the cathedral.

Don't have to got into the Cathedral to pop in, a great off the track place for lunch or a restorative brew.

“Busy at lunchtime but fine”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

My partner had very good gammon while I had a lovely chocolate brownie. Nice setting in the 'conservatory' at the side of the cathedral. Decent tea and coffee.
