Forget the bad reviews for this hotel as they are out of date.Stayed for one night .Room was comfortable and bathroom spacious.Evening meal taken in restaurant and was very enjoyable with small but decent priced wine list.Breakfast is very good-freshly prepared to order.Staff really welcoming, pleasant and friendly.Only downside would be front rooms could suffer from street noise(stayed in back so not a problem) and also parking arrangements quirky-you actually park in Mercure car park but worth the £5charge as we parked there overnight until following afternoon. Will stay again when in the area.

I had one of the most amazing weekends of my life at this wonderfully friendly hotel in Salisbury, possibly not all to do with the hotel as the company was also good!!

I met a friend who had found this hotel after visiting several in close proximity none of which were a patch on this jem.

We booked in, received a very warm welcome from the new management here, and although it was nearing the end of service at lunchtime they accommodated our hunger and we had an amazing Roast Beef 2 course Sunday Lunch which we washed down with some very good Claret.

We were lucky enough to have the four poster room which was huge, nicely decorated/furnished and well equipt with tea, coffe, biscuits and bottled water!!!

The building is very old and as such has alot of original features, odd floor levels etc however this only adds character & quirkyness in my opinion. The Breakfast was also amazing with something to satisfy even the most awkward of people, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough...I will never forget my stay here. :)

I stayed here with family on a one night stay and must say it was beautiful inside. Love the floors and how all the furniture leans into each other. Have to keep your wits about you walking on the stairs and in the hallways. Loved it. Breakfast was divine and the service was excellent. Wish we had more character in our hotels in Australia. Good luck and best wishes to the staff and new management. Di Cunningham

Awesome location and so easy to find, with plenty of parking at rear. A fantastic room packed with period features and wonderful olde worlde charm. Simply the best 'full English' breakfast that you could hope for, overall fantastic value for money.... The team at Kings Arms where charming, helpful and made our stay at Salisbury a most pleasurable one.

I had a Canadian friend over visiting and picked this hotel from the website as I wanted to show Louise something that was historic, yet also contemporary. The hotel was perfect, full of ancient character, but beautifully upgraded. North Americans love the wonky floors etc. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The food was super. Louise, normally a vegatarian, gave in and enjoyed her 'only once in a decade' full english breakfast. Highly commended, and if I'm in Salisbury again, this is where I'll stay!

Under new management this is a hotel in a period building dating back to the 12th century. Although having read mixed reviews, I found the staff to be both very helpfull and willing to go out of their way to assist with those little things which can make a difference to a stay. The hotel itself is full of character which is expected from a building some 800 years old. It is situated centrally within Salisbury with it's own restaurant with several others within the city covering all kinds of tastes. An overall enjoyable experience for thoes who like our English heritage.

We recently stayed at the Kings Arms Hotel in Salisbury, England, and found everything to be great: accommodations, personnel, the pub on-premises. The doorways are sometimes low, so don't bump your head. I recommend this one. Very near the beautiful cathedral (with its own copy of Magna Carta).
