“a real treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2012

As our friendly waitress pointed out, Reeves has remained popular by not changing what it does.
It is an old fashioned tea-room/bakery, with efficient service and an excellent selection of cakes and buns - the jap fancies and the lardy cake are both specialities

“Afternoon Tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2012

A really British experience. Afternoon tea for two for £7.00. Cakes and sandwiches with a pot of tea (or coffee if you prefer) served beautifully. A must for a visitor from abroad. If you get the window seat there is a lovely view over the market square (market on a Tuesday and a Saturday).

“Tea room with home made food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

This tea room is above the bakers shop and it is incredibly popular. I have visited many times over the years and there is always a queue in the shop for bread, cakes, savoury snacks and prepared rolls and sandwiches.
Access is via stairs and do not be surprised if you have to wait for a table as this quite common. There is a good amount of space with tables and chairs set out as well as some low sofas with tables. You will be shown to your table by staff who then bring menus and take a drinks order. They offer a selection of coffee, tea and cold drinks. During our last visit in early April we ordered coffee, home made tomato soup which is served with a roll from the bakery and butter, we also ordered quiche and salad. The staff are friendly and organised and everything appears quite quickly. The drinks were pleasant and the soup hot and tasty as was the quiche Lorraine which comes with plenty of side salad. They also offer filled rolls, jacket potatoes, sausage rolls and basically anything on sale in the shop can be requested in the tea room. It is good value for waiter service and is always busy which is a good sign. There is also outside seating over looking the market square for those unable to tackle the stairs or just wishing to be out in the fresh air, although I do not think the outside tables are waiter service. Well worth a visit if you are in Salisbury and if you get a chance buy their cheese straws to take home - they are to die for!
