This hotel is on the outskirts of the town and situated a busy road. You’ll need a car to walk into the beautiful old town centre of Salisbury on a rainy day. Our room was comfortable and serviced every day and the decor was soothing to the eye. This hotel appears to have a constant stream of guests and visitors who book out the meeting rooms there. It provides a good base from which to explore the beauty of the Wilshire countryside and the New Forest.
The owners/managers deliver on efficiency but certainly not on warmth or attentiveness to guests’ needs. Service lacks graciousness and even the faintest hint of caring. If you do not want the high cholesterol-high salt offering of the standard bacon and eggs or desiccated high sugar cereal flakes for your morning breakfast, you will need to buy your own breakfast. When asked for fresh fruit, the owner said there was none available but reluctantly offered to supply fruit preserved in syrup. Local shops offer a plentiful supply of delicious fresh fruit, yogurts, and cheeses from the area and interesting health breads. There was no attempt or even an inkling of willingness to provide an alternative to the breakfast on offer or a discount on the fee for the bed and breakfast tariff. Comfortable accommodation. Good location. Frosty guest relations.
Bring your own breakfast if you want a healthy alternative to a fry up.More
