“Fun afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We spent a super afternoon here with old friends who we took on a suprise visit. We were well looked after by the friendly staff and Peter Bryant who gave us a little talk and showed us around. He had an excellent knowledge of all the aircraft and the stories behind them. We were able to sit in the cockpits and have a go on the simulator. It was a very educational and fun afternoon and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't visited there before.

“Truly wonderful visit.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

The museum is run by enthusiastic volunteers, most of home have seen service action in aircraft much like in the museum, so they really know what they are talking about.
They get the right balance of telling you interesting facts and anecdotes but also letting wander around, climbing into cockpits and playing with switches!
Great day out.

“A great little aircraft museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

This is a great place to visit! All of us really enjoyed the experience and the staff were so friendly and helpful. There is a really interesting selection of aircraft and visitors are encouraged to try all the cockpits out. There's also a link trainer giving anyone a chance to safely crash an aircraft! Highly recommended.

“Kids loved it.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

We had vouchers won by the friends we were staying with which we were very grateful for as it's quite pricey. It's quite small and to begin with I thought it was over priced and disappointing.... However then we got into one of the planes the kids (ranging from 18mths-13years old) all loved it they were allowed to touch!!!! Push any button they liked and there were lots of staff/volunteers encouraging and helping them. First time I've been to a museum and the adults were ready to leave before the children all of them loved it and if we're honest we also became big kids. Simulater was great too. Definitely worth a visit

“Highlight of our holiday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We recently spent a week in and around the Sailsbury area. During our time we did all of the usual stuff like Stonehenge, Woodhenge, Avebury and Old Sarum. By chance on our last day as we were leaving Old Sarum we took a quick drive over to the Airfield. I am glad we did as we spent a good few hours visiting the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection. The kids loved sitting in the cockpits and the eldest even had a go on a flight sim. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It needs to be better advertised but by far the highlight of the week!
