“Friendly atmosphere and delicious cakes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2013

I have been to this cafe a couple of times and enjoyed both visits. The coffee is good and it is so nice to find quality teas served in a cafe. On my last visit I had excellent green tea and the best pastel de nata I have ever tasted.
I first visited in the Summer and sat outside in their rear courtyard which was a sun trap on a windy day. The cafe is friendly and it seems that you are encouraged to relax and take your time over your visit which is in contrast to so many places where you feel you should hurry up so they can clear away.
They also sell some teas and produce which I have bought for a treat and also for Christmas presents.

“Fabulous Food and Warm Welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2012

The Borough Cafe has fabulous home cooked, locally sourced food and the most wonderfully warm and welcoming staff. I have been a fairly regular customer since they opened at the end of the summer and neither the food, nor the service has ever disappointed. I especially recommend the tea pigs Earl Grey and the steak baguette has to be tasted to be believed - proper French bread - divine! The best cafe for really good food and coffee/tea in the countryside, fabulous circular walks to earn your bacon sarnie in delicious freshly baked bread too. Utterly fab. Also they take pre orders by phone for lunch!

“I love this Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2012

The Borough Cafe has everything you could want and more. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The Cafe itself has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and you can watch the comings and goings of the village from the seats in the bay window or hide away upstairs amidst the beams. The food is locally produced and you can really tell the quality when you taste it. My kids adore the chocolate cake washed down with elderflower juice whilst I enjoy a Dorset apple cake and freshly brewed coffee after school. Lunch with friends is also a delight; homemade soups such as mushroom or butternut squash with a huge chunk of local bread, caramelised onion and goats cheese tart with side salad or make up your own panini,wrap,baguette....there's too many things to mention. The coffee is also delicious, it is freshly brewed and the staff know what they are doing in the art of good coffee. A must to finish is the Pastel de Nata, these are heavenly and especially the raspberry ones! I recommend to all to pop in and enjoy the delights of this locally run cafe and I guarantee that you'll be back, I know I will.
