After an exhausting bus trip from London with several sight-seeing stops along the way, we were quite thrilled to find this most excellent pub just around the corner from where our bus dropped us in Salisbury. We had only 90 minutes to sight-see and eat and after a quick run to the cathedral all we wanted was a lovely place to sit and get a quick and satisfying meal. The New Inn provided just that. We were told when we entered that certain food would take time to cook so we might want to stick to items like soup and such. We chose the Moroccan Vegetable Soup and having just traveled to Morocco, I was a bit skeptical but it tasted more like what I expected Moroccan food to taste like than anything I'd eaten in Morocco! Wonderful thick soup with just the right hint of spice and sweetness served with a piping hot baguette and butter. Exactly what I needed to feel refreshed and ready for an afternoon of touring. The price was right and the pub is definitely a favorite of the locals!
