“Home away from home in the country”
Reviewed 28 February 2017 for a stay in December 2016

A lovely warm and comfortable winter haven while we waited to complete on a new home. Beautiful setting, with good local amenities in Downton, and Salisbury only a short drive away. So convenient for exploring Hampshire's ideallic countryside and the New Forest, or just relaxing in situ and getting away form it all. Will enjoy going again for a Spring or summer stay

“Everything you could want provided”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

A very well equipped little gem. Comfortable, very clean and private. There was also a nice private garden with a gas BBQ for guests use. Our hosts, Ann & Colin, were extremely friendly and had provided everything we could possible want from cake on arrival to maps and tourist leaflets. It was just a few miles to the Salisbury Park & Ride on the south of the city. Highlights, for us, in Salisbury were the Cathedral Tower Tour and Ted Heath's house, Arundells. Downton however is worth a walk around. Discover the Moot area and stroll in the water meadows. Downton also has a Co-op for vital supplies.

“Perfect”
Reviewed 10 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

A fantastic break away, a very comfortable well equipped flat, perfect distance for shopping in Salisbury, and beautiful walks in the forest. Downton has several good pubs for food. Will be back again next year.

Management Response

We will look forward to welcoming you back. The work on Salisbury's market square should be finished and the Christmas market should be better than ever next year. In fact it could be one to make a note of because it has all the charm of Bath or Winchester Christmas Markets but its not as well known or as busy. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Christmas.
