Spire house was so lovely and comfortable! It was within easy walking distance of the train station, and being in the town centre, close to everything you would want to see and do in Salisbury. Lois and Jon could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was an extra charge, but also delicious. The rooms are beautifully decorated, cosy and have every amenity and comfort you could wish for.

Salisbury was the final stop in a two-week road trip in England, so we allowed an extra day to regroup and relax before heading home. Our stay at Spire House was just what we needed! While the rooms are not as "posh" as some others we stayed in on our trip, we were very comfortable, the bed was good, there were tea and biscuits available in our room, and the bathroom was fully functional (something I've learned not to take for granted in England!). Spire House is very conveniently located, and John and Lois were great about making restaurant suggestions and other ideas for spending our free time in Salisbury; the afternoon we arrived, Lois suggested we take advantage of the nice weather to visit the water meadows, and that suggestion was spot on! Parking on the street in front was convenient (although our rental car did suffer some damage while parked -- looked like a truck scrape -- that cost us a bit of extra cash upon return). And of course, the view of the cathedral spire out of our top-floor window was divine!

Lois and Jon make you feel right at home and are very helpful for anything you need including recommendation for restaurants and things to do around Salisbury. The location is great, right next to the cathedral. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. We Will definitely come again. This B&B is Great value. Thank you!

I stayed for one night with a couple of mates on a two-day cycling trip and it proved to be a perfect choice for us. Having booked a few weeks earlier, we rang ahead to say we were running a bit late thanks to the unexpected sweltering May weather - which necessitated several strategic pub stops - but Lois was very understanding and told us not to hurry. On arrival, we were given a warm welcome by John - with our bikes safely accommodated in a walled rear garden - and he then gave us some helpful tips on places to eat/drink before we walked into the city centre. The triple room proved to be ideal for 3 weary cyclists, with plenty of space and a quiet location overlooking the garden, and we all slept well in the super-comfy beds. We also had the £5 breakfast, which proved to be very good value, and the bacon, eggs and as-much-toast-as-you-can-eat option helped us on our way via the scenic cathedral grounds which are just 2 or 3 minutes' walk away. We were all delighted to have stayed at Spire House with its great location and friendly hosts, rather than some of the bigger hotels we'd been considering. It was excellent value - and we can fully recommend it to other cyclists too.

Room Tip: If you're a group of 3 who all need your own beds, the triple room is quiet, comfortable and ver...

John and Lois were very welcoming and helpful when my wife and I stayed there for a night on our honeymoon. My wife loved the charming old timey quirky decor of the place. They recommended places to eat, do laundry, and provided sound travel directions for when we left. Breakfast was good and very reasonably priced as well.

Their location in relation to the Salisbury Cathedral provides a lovely walk to and excellent view of the cathedral. The rest of the old downtown area of Salisbury is a short walk from their front door.

If you are in the area, visiting Stonehenge outside of Salisbury or the Cathedral within Salisbury, I definately recommend The Spire House as a fine B&B choice. Get one of the rooms with a view of the cathedral spire, it's beautiful to see when you wake up.

Husband, 13yo and I stayed for one night on 4 May 2014 after a trip to the Salisbury Races Family Fun Day. You really can't go wrong with this lovely Boutique Hotel which is a classic period property. It is beautifully and lovingly decorated and the bedding, pillows, towels etc are all clean and good quality. We had a family room with a double and day bed at the top of the house at the front with a great view of the Cathedral Spire. Yes it's on a busy road - but it's worth it for the handy location.

The Hosts are very friendly and obliging, the breakfast was superb, and having a little fridge in the room with proper milk made such a change - a decent cuppa! Much better than wrestling with those horrible plastic containers.

The Cathedral and centre of town with everything Salisbury offers is on your doorstep. Parking wasn't a problem for us but do check with the hosts if you're coming by car. Typically for a medieval town there are one-way systems to negotiate, and on the day we arrived lots of roads were closed for building renovation work. I understand this may continue into the Spring.

We'll definitely recommend Spire House to anyone staying in Salisbury, and I would definitely choose this hotel next time we return to Salisbury for an overnight stay.

Room Tip: Just speak to the hosts and tell them your requirements. They're very friendly and helpful.
