The owner, Jon, was very helpful and the short walk to the Cathedral a real plus, but be careful about which room you book! We stayed on the upper floor facing the street and the traffic noise was relentless (vehicles passing by at even 3 and 4 in the morning). Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep! Breakfast was an extra charge: £5 each, but worth it.

I took my family to Salisbury this summer for their first visit and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. John and Lois were exceptionally kind and helpful... the B& B was very homey...and the location was literally steps away from the Cathedral. We'd love to return to Salisbury and stay there again!

We stayed at Spire House in early June with my sons for two nights. The room was on the top floor and was very cozy. The spire of the Salisbury Cathedral was not seen from the window, but still the view was nice and the room and the bath room was full of light.
The location is in the centre (just few minutes walk from the Cathedral gate), but quiet during the night and you can get a good sleep.
The breakfast was very homely as if I were staying with my aunt house.
Ask any question to Lois and John: the couple who run this B&B, and they give you plenty of
"insider information" about the town such as the short cut to the station, cozy local pubs, etc.

This is a nice place and a very comfortable stay. Our room (on the 1st floor) was overlooking the rear side, where a small private yard locates. No much view, but no any noise. We had a good sleep. When someone steps on the above floor, creaks are well audible, but do not disturb much. The room was clean and lovely decorated, and the breakfast was perfect (5 pounds per person in addition to the room rate). John and Lois are very friendly and we are grateful to them for the warm welcome! They are also providing daily car parking permits (you need to obtain a separate permit for every day), which is needed from 8 am till 6 pm. With the permit the car can be parked the same street just opposite the B&B. The place is 10 walking minutes from the center, but at the same time is very convinient for car shuttling rides through the local attractions. Wi-Fi was working fine.

Room Tip: We could recommend the upper floor, where should be no noise from upper rooms. However, the stairs i...

Spire house was so lovely and comfortable! It was within easy walking distance of the train station, and being in the town centre, close to everything you would want to see and do in Salisbury. Lois and Jon could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was an extra charge, but also delicious. The rooms are beautifully decorated, cosy and have every amenity and comfort you could wish for.

Salisbury was the final stop in a two-week road trip in England, so we allowed an extra day to regroup and relax before heading home. Our stay at Spire House was just what we needed! While the rooms are not as "posh" as some others we stayed in on our trip, we were very comfortable, the bed was good, there were tea and biscuits available in our room, and the bathroom was fully functional (something I've learned not to take for granted in England!). Spire House is very conveniently located, and John and Lois were great about making restaurant suggestions and other ideas for spending our free time in Salisbury; the afternoon we arrived, Lois suggested we take advantage of the nice weather to visit the water meadows, and that suggestion was spot on! Parking on the street in front was convenient (although our rental car did suffer some damage while parked -- looked like a truck scrape -- that cost us a bit of extra cash upon return). And of course, the view of the cathedral spire out of our top-floor window was divine!
