“Very welcoming. Excellent location”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

I was born and raised in Salisbury and wanted to re-visit my old haunts.
The location was perfect for my needs. Easy walking to the City center.
Sue and Charles were excellent hosts.
My room overlooked the green and Old Sarum across the street.
However if a guest has any health issues I think all the steps to the entrance could be difficult.

We come from Singapore and and it was nice to be greeted with warmth and hospitality from Sue and Charles. We felt welcomed.

The rooms were clean and cosy. The blinds and curtains were bright and cheery and made us feel comfortable in our rooms immediately.

We enjoyed our breakfast also. We liked the jam so much that we bought a bottle home too.

Sarum Heights was located near Old Sarum as well so we could do some sightseeing conveniently too.

In all, it was a pleasant experience staying here!

Stayed in the family rooms, which was nice as our daughter had her own room. The only disadvantage was that the bathroom for the family rooms is not truly en-suite, but this is clearly stated on the website and robes are provided. The family rooms overlook the backyard, so the view is not as nice as the other rooms, but they are quiet. The breakfast was very nice, with free-range eggs, and the dining table is in the kitchen so you can talk to your friendly hosts while eating.

There is a bit of a climb up some stairs from the parking to the house (as indicated on the website), which you should be aware of. And you can help the owners keep their prices moderate by directly booking with them instead of through a booking agency.

Had a great weekend while staying at Sarum Heights, the room was very spotless, with a very comfortable bed, tea & coffe facilities (hot chocolate & biscuits too!) and the view from the room was amazing. Nice English breakfast in the morning with gorgeous home-made jams and bread. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Avon Room - the view is great

Stayed here one night. Our room provided an excellent view of Old Sarum, an open area containing soccer and rugby fields, the Avon River, and parts of Salisbury. The room was equipped with two chairs for guest seating, and a large window facing the view. The downsides were the very small bathroom, it had a specially modified toilet seat so one could seat sideways on the stool, there was no room to seat forward. The second down side was the 15 steps from the car park to the door, and from the ground to the first floor. The breakfast was good.

Room Tip: The Avon Room is the one with the view.
