Stayed one night in July during a heatwave. The rooms in the back of the main hotel are very ugly. The first room that we were given was on the upper level in the back -- very ugly -- carpet was very worn. It was 90 degrees. The window would not stay open. The shower head kept falling down. The staff was nice enough. We moved to room 12. Also very ugly, small, not very clean and very noisy! The Internet was down and I got the impression that this happens very often. There was also a brief power outage. The bar area was poorly ventilated, no air conditioning anywhere. Yikes! We checked out early and went to a hotel in Windsor.

We have just stayed at The Christopher for a night, having been sent there from the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel, which had overbooked due to computer problems.The staff at The Christopher could not have been more helpful, they bent over backwards to make sure we were well cared for, including saving a parking space for us. The room was comfortable and quiet (no.5) although being over the kitchens meant that we did get the smell of cooking in our room occasionally. The Sir Christopher Wren had arranged for us to have a complimentary breakfast and bottle of wine in our room, so despite the mixup both hotels went out of their way to make our stay a pleasurable one.
