This wont be a conventional review but people with life threatening food allergies will appreciate. Good restuarant when waiting staff understand impact of allergies and chefs can deconstruct dishes to accommodate but still plate a good dish. I've felt so comfortable there (this never normally happens ) that I've started having all my meet ups with friends - location speaks for itself, decor simple but nice.

The views of the Thames and Boulters Lock are incomparable. Every table benefits from cozy decor and river view sight lines. We came for lunch and chose to sit outside, very nice!

The upstairs bar menu is limited but more than adequate, we ordered a honey salmon salad and a beef burger on brioche roll with chips. Both dishes were well prepared and portions were generous.

Parking is nonexistent and walking across is recommended. Also, the seating is ample and well staffed if you arrive early, it becomes more crowded and the staff more busy as the day grows late.

Highly recommended ++++

This place was awesome. The staff were incredibly helpful. Happy to check if the food complied with one of my friends allergies. My risotto was incredible. The dishes were inventive, tasty and beautiful. I would highly recommend this place based on this visit.

Our friends knew they had had service problems recently and that has certainly been rectified.
This was a birthday celebration and once again we remarked on the sensible table layout in the sun bathed dining room overlooking the Thames. Most Sunday lunch restaurants are crammed to the 'gunnels' by 2pm, with the resultant noise levels making it hard to hear what your own friends are saying. Not so here and no waiting for the table and others to vacate it.
We decided to go for the roasts of the day - beef and pork (a bit fatty) - preceded by some tasty starters and a rose fizz to reflect our mood.
The young md and staff are aware of the previous service criticisms and are quick to respond to any request.
All in all a very enjoyable and relaxed experience, topped off afterwards by a very welcome walk in the park by the river.

Recently visited this venue for a bite of lunch. This is a very local restaurant for me and we were pleasantly surprised by the food. The scenery is stunning, especially when the weather is good and you have great views of the river. The food is also good. I had a very simple salad but it was tasty and fresh, which is surprisingly hard to find! The dessert was delicious though, lemon souffle with raspberry ripple ice-cream; mouthwateringly good! I will absolutely visit again.
