Quiet and charming hôtel where i use to go every month since 3 years. Rooms are comfortable and elegant, service is excellent, food including breakfast is good. My only message to the owner is that he should improve maintenance which is definitely the weak point of this hotel.

We stayed here for one night and had an excellent experience. Customer service was wonderful - nothing was too much trouble for staff at reception, in the restaurant and the spa. Spa facilities are beautiful and very clean. Treatment rooms are luxurious. I was given fresh fruit and iced tea after my massage. Dinner was very good and no-one batted an eyelid when we all ordered from different menus. We were brought lovely little canapes and petit fours and extra (delicious) bread was offered before we asked for it. Yes, bedrooms are a little bit tired and the restaurant decor could do with a bit of an update, but I can excuse these things when the overall experience is so good. Staff bent over backwards to help us and to make our stay truly memorable. Thank you!

My mum and I stayed here earlier this week for a 2 night spa break, with accomodation, dinner, breakfast and spa treatments all included. I had read the reviews on the site and was a little concerned by some of the comments on here about the hotel. ........

However we had a truely wonderful stay and will most certainly be back. On arrival receptionist was very helpful as were all the other staff I met around the hotel. The room was large and spacious with super comfortable beds, complimentary bottles of water, tons of toiletries, large bath towels and big fluffy robes. We were in the new part of the hotel near the spa, and I have to say it is certainly the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Also had the benefit of air conditioning as well which is a welcome addition as well.

The spa was wonderful - amazing pool and all staff there couldnt do enough to help. The spa isnt huge, but is very comfortable and excellent quality. The treatments were very professional and priced the same way you would expect in most spas. I notice one review said they couldnt have lunch in the spa. We ordered our lunch and staff even made sure it was ready and waiting when our treatment was finished. Again the spa was the cleanest I have ever been too.

We ate dinner both nights and again the staff at the bar and restaurant were very good indeed. Nothing was too much trouble and they added nice touches such as taking your order in the bar and then bringing you through to the restaurant when the starter was ready.

I notice others have mentioned about the price of food and beverage and to be honest I think it is totally in line with other 4 and 5* hotels that I have eaten at and stayed in. The food was excellent - really very high quality indeed.

Breakfast I think has changed as continental breakfast it out for you to select and cooked breakfasts are made to order. Again staff were faultless and food was really delicious.

Overall I have to stay our stay was very relaxing and very enjoyable indeed. We will most certainly be back. The thing that made our staff better than many other hotels was the quality of the service. The staff at this hotel, from restaurant, bar, spa and reception are to be highly commended for their 5* customer care.

We returned to Fredricks after a 4 year absence and once again found a hotel with great service and a lovely pool / spa area.

We stayed in room 2 which was quite small and the decor was a little tired. Also there was no tea / coffee facilities in the room either.

However, we were generally very happy with our stay.

We stayed for a Saturday night in October because we had a booking at the nearby restaurant, The Fat Duck in Bray and needed convenient accommodation. We booked for £119 B&B via Laterooms. Our room was comfortable with a good bed and air conditioning. The bathroom was small but had plenty of towels and toiletries. There was no kettle but we did discover after searching the room guide we could request a beverage tray. Staff were friendly and polite. Unfortunately we found food and beverage to be expensive. We had 2 sandwiches and a 2 bottles of beer in the bar for lunch and were charged £25 (an automatic tip was included). 250ml bottles of juice & 330ml bottles of cola were around £3.50 and spirits (excluding mixer) around £7. We found it strange that the bar offered no wine and drinks menu and that as a "cocktail bar" they offered no cocktails. Although the website mentioned Afternoon Tea we were not able to have this as it was not offered. We looked at the restaurant menu and noted that mains were £25-30. We felt this was a classic case of a mis-placed strategy of trying to make increased margin on F&B to compensate for the lack of revenues generated from room occupancy. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. When we came down at 9.30am there was little choice and things were replenished. There was a "hard close" at 10am on Sunday with all food removed dead on time even though the restaurant was still virtually full. Guests were asked if they wanted anything before the food was removed but we felt we were being encouraged to leave. The spa was nice with an indoor/outdoor pool. Unfortunately indoor seating was limited and it was cramped on a Saturday afternoon. Although we signed in with a member of staff facilities were not explained so we are not sure what was available beyond the pool and we thought complimentary beverages may be being offered but no-one told us about it. This was a convenient hotel, easy to find with plenty of parking and nicely quiet. However, beyond this we wouldn't particularly recommend it. Nothing wrong but nothing great and F&B could easily add up. It is not in walking distance of anywhere being on the outskirts of Maidenhead.

Spent two nights at Fredricks to relax and explore the area before joining a family birthday. We have stayed here three times now and each time it has got better. Previous rooms have been excellent but this time we were treated to the best in the hotel! It was enormous, a full sitting room with fireplace, book shelves, huge TV and gorgeous big bathroom just off it. The staff are lovely also, courteous and helpful. The breakfasts are great as you can sit in the garden room and look out on to the beautiful garden which was still full of colour in October. We ordered a taxi to take us to the birthday party which was half an hours journey away and asked him to collect us to take us back. He charged us £65 each way! So beware of Malik the taxi driver and ask for an estimate of the charge before you book him.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the garden and swimming pool.
