“Cheap enough but cheap for a reason”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

OK so I needed a room for only one night and so I wasn't too bothered about what or where it was exactly. It only cost £35 for the one night but that's without breakfast so not exceptional value when you consider a Travelodge etc is not a lot more.

In need of modernisation and the shower was barely lukewarm. Bed was comfortable enough with clean linen. Strong smell of spices due to the Indian restaurant below.

Better than sleeping in the car is about the best thing I can say about it.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

We chose this hotel because it was near Heathrow Airport, where we had an early flight the next day. It was okay - room was quiet, clean and comfortable. It was in a residential neighborhood, so there was nothing to do once we checked in, but we had nothing planned, other than eating and sleeping.

Fortunately there was an Asian restaurant on the ground floor that was very good (Flavours of Asia), and we enjoyed the meal.

Since this was convenient, reasonable priced and quiet, it met our expectations. But I wouldn't stay here more than one night.

Room Tip: We slept on the ground floor in the back. It was quiet, which we wanted. I imagine all rooms would b...

We booked here for one night as we were going to a family celebration. As soon as we walked in the smell if spices hit us. The room was awful. More like a hostel. The bathroom stank of pee so much that we couldn't use it. There was also a heavy smell of cooking fat in the room coming from the kitchen. It may be cheap but this was ridiculous. It was so bad we couldn't stay and left. Steer clear.

I stayed here just for a place to lay my head while visiting friends. It was affectively just some rooms above an Indian restaurant, but it did the job for the price. The rooms were a bit shabby, but clean, and the staff were accommodating. There was the smell of curry everywhere, but I don't see that as a down point!!!

I booked this as a stopover to be near Legoland with the kids. I chose it over Travelodge type places as it was cheaper and had parking. I knew from the reviews it was not going to be stellar but it was value for money. On the downside the decor was dated, the bathroom shabby, no food option, lot of bird droppings outside window and the wifi did not work. On the plus side it was cheap, the room was spacious, ensuite, the area is quiet and it did the trick to be near Legoland.
NB there is an Indian restaurant on the ground floor so you can have an evening meal in the same building.

Room Tip: Family room was spacious with en suite.

Previously I reviewed a place in Paignton. Which was outstanding.....the Kingswood was the antithesis of paignton.

Very tired decor...badly painted...badly layed floorin bathroom...bath panel broken...toilet roll holder was dirty and mould around the shower screen.

£45 for the night....no breakfast either. My recommendation.....go 10 mins down the road to Travelodge.

On the upside...it was a memory foam mattress.

Well where to start
Met by a nice enough member of staff who took payment and showed us to our family room (room 7) on the top floor
On first impressions it looked ok, double bed and a single for our son
Furniture mis-matched bedding the same
The bathroom whilst large was in a poor state with broken floor tiles, crumbling grout, dirty glass shower screen which had doors that didn't close properly which proved a problem when we took a shower and the bathroom floor resembled a boating lake and I won't even mention the toilet brush!!!! Ewwwwww!!!!
Decoration was terrible with holes in the walls, damp patches and just generally in bad nick
Curtains were filthy and hanging off the rails
The bed was that solid it was like sleeping on a pavement
Chewing gum stuck to the headboard, oh and my wife stood in something sticky in the carpet

That said we made the best if it and the hotel was quiet and a decent sleep was had

It would take a major renovation to make this a good hotel, which when you see the immaculate restaurant downstairs comes as a surprise that it hasn't been done!!!!

Would we stay here again........... NO
Would we recommend it to anyone...........NO

We paid £45 for one night in a family room, some may say you get what you pay for
Well we paid £42 the night before in a premier inn and if I sat here all night I couldn't find a bad thing to say about it!!!!!!

Not a nice place!!!!!!!
