Second time I have eaten here and was again very happy. Table outside near the river, food was excellent and staff friendly and attentive. Thanks for a lovely evening Riverhouse!

“A right old Eton Mess”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Lovely sunny day, fancied lunch by the river, arrived early enough to beat the rush, or so we thought! This restaurant has plenty of tables on the terrace overlooking the river, perfect, we sat down and ordered drinks and food 11.45, drinks arrived, we asked for a parasol as it was very hot but there were none, so we moved inside which is quite dark but nice. At 12.15 I asked someone if they could check on our order, came back and said it was on its way, 11.25, we asked another member of staff to check, she didn't come back, 11.30 we asked someone else, he said it was just being prepared, apparently too many people ordered sandwiches and there was a backlog! My 'hot' panini was stone cold, the cheese hadn't even melted. Each sandwich comes with chips and coleslaw, we each had 4 chips! One of the waiters (of which there were plenty) apologised and asked if we wanted a free dessert, as we had only paid for parking for 2 hours we declined as it had taken an hour to serve the sandwich, I told him the panini was cold but as we were hungry by that time we just ate it, he did take the price of drinks from the bill. Lovely place full of promise but the service really lets them down. I would not go here again when visiting but visit one of the other pubs up the side streets to get a better service

“Went for wine, charcuterie, and a sunset”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Very good in that I got what I wanted out of it: a beautiful sunset view over the river Thames with a bottle of wine and some great charcuterie. If you are going to simply wine and snack your way to dusk, it is an excellent venue. Our server was friendly, not speedy. It was definitely a leisurely paced wine and dine, but after a day of sightseeing I was fine with it.

“Poor”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

Several attempts of this place just fails to impress :(

Lovely location alongside the river is let down by average food and can't be bothered attitude to service..

A pub that tries to be a restaurant does it poorly with " not serving now as we have been busy all day"

.... " Drinks only "early on in the evening when a nice meal riverside would be nice..

Last 3 visits been turned away for food for various reasons...

I now no longer will bother, neither should you!

“Riverside Setting, excellent dining & efficient service”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

During the recent hot, sunny weather we had a very enjoyable meal at RiverHouse. Throughout the evening, we found the staff to be accommodating, friendly and doing their utmost to provide a good level of service on what was probably their busiest night of the summer. They even took the trouble to move furniture from inside to outside so more people could dine 'al fresco'. All courses, coffee and bill arrived promptly. Both our fish dishes were delicious and it was a real treat to see a restaurant serving a very tasty Baked Alaska just for one. Of course the location and weather contributed to a special, riverside dining experience.
