Very nice hotel right by Windsor Castle. Lovely rooms and amenities. The Bose iPod Dock was a a bonus for me. Ate there one evening and the food was good but nothing outstanding. The hotel though is worth booking. Locality is the main attraction- walked from the train with no problems.

Room Tip: To get a room at the front of the hotel is obviously more expensive but I was happy with one with a...

We stayed at this hotel for a short break and were very happy with our choice. The hotel is is in a great central location, the rooms are very comfortable ( we chose an executive double) and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
The bar and restaurant are good for a relaxing drink and excellent food. The staff are attentive but not intrusive.
A great hotel to stay if you want more than just a bed for the night.

My boyfriend and I were booking a weekend away in Windsor and wanted to make sure we were staying somewhere central. Well, it doesn't get more central than bang opposite Windsor castle! The lady I dealt with on the phone, (I think her name is Maggie) was the most helpful and friendliest person I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with at a hotel. It's the little touches that made this hotel so great. The welcome drink at reception along with bowls of sweets and Easter eggs, to the consistent level of enthusiastic, helpful and lovely customer service we received throughout our stay. The room itself was stunning. Plush furnishings, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, robes in the wardrobe, etc etc. Looking for a reason to come back and stay again, but I only live 30 minutes away!

Stayed here for two nights in adjoining rooms with our 16 year old son. This really is a beautiful hotel located right in the centre of Windsor, the rooms were both modern and clean with a real luxury feel about them. The type of building means that most have a pretty uninspiring view but that is to be expected. We never got the chance to eat at the hotel but loads of other restaurants in Windsor to choose from so that was fine. Coming from "up north" we couldn't believe how easy it was to get into London we usually have to check when our one or two trains an hour are running but here you can chose from two stations with trains more or less continuously .
The parking costs £28 a night but for such a premium location it seemed fair. A fantastic hotel with friendly staff and a great ambience.

Room Tip: Not sure if any have a street view but if so go for it.

We chose MacDonald's Windsor for our first visit to London as we did not wish to stay in London City and wanted to be close to Heathrow. What a wonderful choice. The staff were wonderful, friendly and so helpful. The accommodation is superb, the location unreal...we loved our stay. With help from the front desk staff we found the best way to access London (via Riverside Rail Station - a direct line to Waterloo Station) and also help with our sightseeing around Windsor. We visited the Savill Gardens, walked the Long Walk, took a boat trip on the Thames and enjoyed the general surrounds of Windsor. The changing of the guard is spectacular and right outside the hotel door. .We had a wonderful few days. We intend to revisit London in just under 2 years and intend to stay again at MacDonald's Windsor. It will feel like going home again.

A lovely, friendly and more importantly dog friendly hotel! Service was great, our room was big and spacious and one of the best we've had in a hotel for a long time and our dog Sky had a fabulous time and very comfy stay! Thank you.............

Room Tip: We asked for a quieter room but got a lovely big room and very quiet - our dog didn't even wake...

My husband and I have just returned yesterday from another wonderful weekend's stay at The Macdonald Windsor - what a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff.

We have previously stayed in this hotel so knew what to expect with the wonderful staff, and well maintained hotel, but we were more than pleasantly surprised with our room this time around. The reason I say this is because when we last stayed here I splashed out on their feature suite for my husbands birthday - which was out of this world (see my previous review) and this time around we had a special discounted package through "Secret Escapes" which included a two night stay in a "standard double" room, full English breakfast, a sharing platter for two and a glass of bubbly each for a very good rate. As it was a discounted offer and a "standard" room, we did not expect much, but to our surprise the room was wonderful and if I am honest had more features and was larger than most of the other hotels that we have stayed in over the years when booking and paying for an executive room.

The standard double room (226) was large, had beautiful decor, bedding, bathroom, very modern, lovely bathroom which had a wet room type shower with a gorgeous rain head shower with separate wall attached hand held shower head. Heated mirror, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, audio from TV piped into bathroom via ceiling speakers (a nice touch) etc Great lavendar toiletries and wonderfully fluffy soft towels, plus robes and slippers provided.

Bedroom had a lot of nice features, large desk, free wifi, flat screen TV, ipod docking station (although could only take older models of iphone/ipods), complimentary water, plenty of storage, nice size wardrobe complete with iron, ironing board, safe and a nice areas for tea/coffee making and a fridge hidden in the cupboard with a mini bar etc. Air conditioning was nice as it was a hot weekend, made for a comforatable nights sleep and easy to operate. Room had everything you could wish for and was so comfortable - if I had to find a fault it would only be the view (which looked out over the back of the hotel and the roof tops) and the ipod docking station which could not take current iphones and no connector, but this is a very small fault.

Breakfast was as usual a great selection of continental, cereals, pastries etc and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order. Service was great throughout the hotel, from the valet parking your car to the cleaners cleaning your room - plus they do a turn down service in the evening which is a lovely touch, to come back to your room after a nice meal to find the bed turned down, chocolates on your pillow and the "Smooth" radio channel playing on the TV.

We ate in Caleys Lounge the first night and had our free sharing platter and glass of bubbly and were very pleasantly surprised at the size of the platter and quality of the bubbly and then we thoroughly enjoyed our main courses, would definitely recommend the steak skewer, cooked to perfection.

So once again we have stayed in the best room of the hotel and now the most standard of the rooms and I can honestly say that you will not be disappointed no matter which room you book, because they are all wonderful - but obviously if you want a view pay the extra to guarantee this.

Great hotel, great location, great staff and great food - what more could you want.
