Owner description: Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and offers an extraordinarily rich and varied day out. Throughout its history, the Castle has been redecorated, enlarged and rebuilt. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle, which is also used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions. Your ticket to Windsor Castle includes entry to our exhibition Waterloo at Windsor.

“Piece of History”

This is a must see for all tourists. There was an exhibition of paintings and art which was very interesting I didn't realise how many of the royal family are artists. The Dolls House was a little disappointing as it was very dark and claustrophobic. Sure there should have been more lighting.

“Well worth the time and money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013

We visited the Castle as a last minute idea and it was a cold and windy day. It was not as expensive as we thought it would be and because we gift aided the ticket money we can visit again any time again in a year. We took the audio tour and which was interesting but a little long winded for the children. It took us about 2 and a bit hours. It is obviously a real piece of British history and it is a privilege to be allowed in to view it all - gift shop a little on the expensive side but there was smaller cheaper things to purchase too if you looked but the money does go to a charity so didn't mind buying some of the lovely items they had x

Got the fast train from paddington station which was quick and easy. The whole village of Windsor is lovely from the train station to the surrounding street s and then up to the castle.

“Wonderful Castle in a unique setting.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013 via mobile

We spent the afternoon at Windsor Castle but could easily of spent longer. It is the most impressive castle both in and outside I have ever visited. It is a joy to visit.I particularly liked Queen Mary's Dolls House which has amazing attention to detail. It is worth knowing that St George's Chapel is not open to the public on Sundays. The State Apartments and St George's Hall were spectacular. You can get your admission ticket stamped allowing you free re-admission for 1 year which adds to the value.

“The audio tour was fantastic and the access to castle treasures was amazing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2013

This tour really impressed my 2 young children, they loved the autonomy of the audio tour and the grandeur of the rooms. Recent historical repairs to the castle since the fire were clearly noted in the audio tour materials. The only drawback was while touring the outside grounds, the level of noise produced by Heathrow air traffic was clearly distracting. An excellent visit for 2 hours time.
