Owner description: Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and offers an extraordinarily rich and varied day out. Throughout its history, the Castle has been redecorated, enlarged and rebuilt. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle, which is also used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions.

I have been to the Castle many times before, but I have never tired of it, and this time it was a lot different to the last time I came around 10 years ago. The only disappointment was the Chapel being closed for a Wedding on Friday and my Wife was very disappointed that the Dolls House was once again not available. We were horrified when we arrived to see the huge queue, but fortunately I had pre-booked our tickets so we went straight in. I would firmly recommend pre-booking. We originally booked our tickets for March, but had to cancel due to the "Beast from the East" as it was known, which covered the South with snow and freezing conditions. I asked if we could transfer the original tickets and the Royal Collection staff could not have been more helpful, which was an indication of how helpful all of the staff were. We did see the rest of the Castle, especially the State apartments which are fantastic and not to be missed. A really enjoyable visit which I would recommend to anyone.

We visited from London after a good lunch at Windsor on a Monday. No need to pre-book train or Windsor entrance ticket. No long queue. The free multimedia guide was very informative. A little disappointed that Queen Mary's Dolls' house was closed(for improvement works), but we enjoyed every exhibit in the State Apartments and were rewarded with a very high standard rehearsal with opera song and orchestra performance at St George's Chapel. Every staff we met along the tour was very helpful with providing information and helping with one of our defective multimedia handset. They is no cafe but a couple of ice cream stands selling the award winning Windsor Castle dairy ice cream. We did not do so, but it seems you can convert the ticket into a one - year pass. You have to go through an airport-style security check at the entrance, and photography is not permitted inside the State Apartments or St George's Chapel.

Beautiful inside. Parts were under construction. Long line to get in and we were there early. Hard walk to get there- lots of cobblestones. Our guide walked so fast several people couldn't keep up and couldn't find their group. Town is very quaint. Would have liked more time there to explore. St. George's chapel is exquisite.

We stayed in WIndsor after arriving at Heathrow in order to tour the palace on our way to our cruise ship in Southampton. Since it was Sunday we were unable to see the chapel unfortunately but really enjoyed our tour of the State Apartments as last time we were there it was after the fire and closed. Great start to a terrific British Isles cruise!

My family an came from a warm climate to visit London we had a beautiful half hr. Visiting Windsor Castle very interesting ... Our tour guide from golden tours was very stern on time for each of d 4 tours... after waiting 40 mins to get into d Castle in d drizzle n cold weather conditions we had to rush tru d Castle to get bk our coach by 10:50am we tried to leave d gates 10:30 am but gates were closed on us an we were told by d guards we can’t leave until d changing of d guards...even tho we explained to them... they told us our coach can’t leave us .. However out tour guide Pedro never told us d Castle gates closes a certain time... after half hr. Gates wer opened we ran to get our coach An to our shock surprise! They left us after paying £500 an it was our 1st tour for d day our guide made us upgrade for a better tour an we paid cash he never even gave us our change ! An lost everything and wer left out in d cold rain wet disappointed “what a situation to be in” we then pleaded with another coach driver n tour guide with our story an they gave us a space in their coach..god bless them both.. I hope Pedro lost his job for d bad treatment he’s a poor excuse for a tour guide.. he wasn’t even British I’m sure he would’ve been understanding...Please get rid of that tour guide in d pic below he’s ignorant an uncaring..we made complaint to d office he works in.. thankfully we get some closure ... he’s d guy in black clothes!
