Owner description: Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and offers an extraordinarily rich and varied day out. Throughout its history, the Castle has been redecorated, enlarged and rebuilt. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle, which is also used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions.

On our first tri to London, Windsor Castle was on our list of must see places. The grounds are beautiful and there is so much history to learn. Be sure walk are and enjoy the scenery. There is also cute shops and places to eat just outside the grounds.

Must see site in England. Beautiful castle. State apartments and Markle wedding dress are very impressive. Good audio tour tells history of rooms and even discusses impact of tragic fire. Lovely surrounding streets. Could easily spend half day at this site.

Steeped in history, so much to see and learn. We were stood in St George’s Chapel where just 6 months earlier Harry and Meghan had married, that was special. It’s clear to see why the Queen retreats there most weekends. So enjoyed it. Will be going back next year.

I don't know what it was. Cold? Lots of photos, but it just didn't seem like there was anything else. The queen was in residence but of course you can't see any part of where she lives, not even the outside from where we were. Maybe it was just our tour, because we did not go to the north terrace or the round tower (only open Aug and Sept) and we were there in October. Did I mention it was cold? Not just the atmosphere, but the weather. I know there is nothing to be done about that, but bring a jacket.
