Holiday Inn Express Windsor
Ranked #8 of 19 Hotels in Windsor
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We have just returned from our 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express Windsor as a family of 4. The hotel is spotlessly clean, beds comfy and staff friendly and helpful. Enough choice at breakfast time even for the fussy eaters ie cereals, toast (white and brown bread), bread rolls, sausages, scrambled eggs, beans, yoghurts and fruit.

The hotel is perfectly situated as it's only a 15 minute taxi ride away from Heathrow. I would recommend using Five Star Taxis - 01753 858888 (£16 from airport) as they are prompt and reliable. A 10 minute walk takes you into the centre of Windsor (which is a lovely town) with the castle being the main focus point. The kids really enjoyed feeding the ducks and swans down by the river.

There is a shuttle bus available (outside the Church) to LEGOLAND at a cost of £11 return and there are also 2 train stations to take you into London. We used the Windsor and Eton Riverside Station which takes 50 minutes to get to Waterloo but you are straight at the London Eye once you arrive and Trafalgar Square is only a walk over the bridge. The trains are cheaper after 9.30 am. We paid £26 return and they seem to come every half hour or so.

Overall, I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express Windsor and would certainly return in the future.

Stayed for two nights recently, arrived fairly late in the evening, very warm welcome from the polite and courteous staff member.
Appears to be a modern building, well kept with rooms all clean and tidy.
Within walking distance of windsor city centre and other local attractions this hotel is ideal.
The only down point for me was the lack of variety in the hot breakfast which was only sausage, egg and beans, maybe some bacon or mushrooms would just add that little extra!

There were 10 of us staying here Friday the 8th till Monday 11th
I have no faults with this hotel whatsoever! Clean room, comfy bed, good breakfast even though there was no bacon! The got drinks machine did break while we were there but no fault of the staff, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
At times you could hear the planes a little but after a while you can't hear them!
Car park was great, close to town,
Will defiantly be going back
We had a few taxis (5 star taxi's) would recommend these cheap, smart and cars are immaculate.

Stayed at this hotel for a 2nd time and it was equally as enjoyable. (We come every year at this time for Ascot Races Shergar Cup - £16-£20 taxi ride away) Check in was quick, The staff are lovely and helpful, our room was clean and adequate - a nice size, air conditioning, coffee making facilities, the bed was ok, the shower was very good. Breakfast is served 0630-0930hrs Monday-Friday, 0700-1000hrs Sat&Sun. Not an immense selection but enough for everyone to find something they like, Sausage, Scrambled egg, beans, toast, rolls, cereals, yogurt, fruit, orange juice, selection of hot drinks, croissants and pastries. The weather was nice enough for us to sit out on the patio area for breakfast which was lovely.
Parking is underneath the hotel, limited spaces charged at £10/day.
Free WiFi
A nice 15min walk into Windsor town centre or £5 in a taxi.
Handy for Windsor Races which is lovely to go to by boat ride.
Will be back again next year

Rooms and hotel in general very clean. Food very poor, limited choice and only apples for fruit choice. Staff very helpful, couldn't fault them. NEVER take a room that adjoins to another, you can hear a pin drop in the next room. The parking was adequate but limited. The staff tried really hard to ask the adjoining room to be quiet but in the end we just vowed never to go back. By the way - on Heathrow flightpath so noisy planes from about 5.30 am every 2m45seconds. Can't be helped but just so others are aware if expecting a quiet stay. Air conditioning very good and not too cumbersome to operate.

Room Tip: ground floor at the rear of hotel would be best. Don't get a room that adjoins another!

Excellent facilities; the rooms are clean, plenty of space, comfortable beds. the staff were really helpful too. Ideal place to stay for the half marathon whether starting from Windsor or Marlow. Nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast buffet style was good with plenty of choice. There is parking under the hotel but fills quickly if you are a late arrive. Book early to get the best rates

Room Tip: All rooms are of a good size
