We booked this hotel last minute and were not disappointed. Accommodation is split across a few locations on the same street and we were led to our room in the eves of a Tudor building with exposed wood and beams throughout the room. It was clean, full of character and with good amenities.

Breakfast was served in the riverside restaurant, we were seated by the window overlooking the Thames. My cooked breakfast was lovely and hot with a variety of continental options as well.

All in all a gem of a hotel, we will definitely be back!

Dear Pete J,

thank you very much for this superb review of your stay with us at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel.

It is a privilege to be described as the 'perfect hotel' and I am delighted you liked your room in the Swan Building. The six bedrooms in the 'Swan' were only refurbished this summer and it is still exciting to get such excellent feedback.

I look forward to welcoming you back here soon.

Merry Christmas and warm regards

My partner and I have just returned from a lovely weekend away, staying at this hotel for 1 night (Sat 21st Dec). Great place to stay, staff were warm and friendly throughout. Our room was cosy and comfy, in a block which was opposite the main hotel, but this wasn't an issue for us. There was some noise disruption from a nite club opp our room but did not cause too much trouble, had to turn TV up a bit to drown it out. Breakfast was reasonable, hot buffet was laid out already and unmanned so some items were less than hot or freshly cooked and there was min choice of fruit and continental, but what we ate was tasty and filling. I used the spa for a couple of treatments and they were good, very relaxing. Didn't use the gym or relaxation area though. Small spa. Overall a great hotel if you want to explore the delights of Windsor town centre and the historic areas of castle and river, in beautiful surroundings.

My wife treated us to a weekend in Windsor with a stay at this hotel. Easy to find and the parking was OK albeit in a very small courtyard to the rear and valet parking during the stay. They move the cars to get them out when needed. Our cay was presented at the front of the hotel as we left nice touch. The room was great very large and a great view of the castle. Very clean and nice comfy beds. The evening meal was OK. My wife wanted steak but was no able to get it cooked how she wanted so that was a disappointment. The staff were very friendly and while we were sitting in the lounge with the fire we had a very nice chat to one of the staff.
The next morning we had the breakfast. Nice view over the Thames and the bridge to Eton. The plates were stacked and the two my wife picked up were dirty. Bit disappointed with that as this is supposed to be a 4****. Anyway the breakfast was good and plenty of it.
The cost of our stay included a trip around the castle. Brilliant best part of the weekend. After the fire the work they have done is just amazing. We went for the audio facility which was FREE. Great commentary all the way round. If you can get your tickets before you go you don't get stuck in the long wait to enter. Straight in and through security.
Eating in Windsor and Eton is easy. There are so many places and so many choices. We tried a few and was pleased with all.
All in all a great weekend only grip was the dirty plates at breakfast and the fact I had to pay £20:00 for the parking!
Would I go back to sir Christopher wren hotel.......no. I've been in better 3*** hotels.

Dear Ian L,

thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us.

I really appreciate that you are highlighting the positives and the team friendliness, despite experiencing some issues during your stay.

I have discussed your feedback regarding the restaurant with my food and beverage manager Claus and he is making sure the plates are checked more thoroughly, as your experience was unacceptable and I can only apologise for this.

Parking is very challenging in Windsor and our rate of £10 per night is in line or even below our local competitors in the town centre, I am sorry that you did not perceive this as acceptable.

I was very sorry to read that you currently would not consider returning to us, but do hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back at some point in the future.

Warm regards

The staff went out of their way to be helpful, making my friends and I feel that we were the only people staying in the hotel!
The location is perfect for shopping, finding great places to visit and to eat, also for arrival by train.
Will definitely return, maybe in the summer next time then we can sit out by the river.

Room Tip: Twin rooms had more character than single room

Dear supercarhub,

thank you very much for this outstanding review of your stay with us at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel.

I was delighted to read all your wonderful comments and was especially pleased that you liked your room so much.

Room 83 is located in the Swan building, which we have only just refurbished this summer. We have tried to keep the refurbishment in line with the style of the building and had to make sure all the listed beams and features were brought back to their former glory.

It is very rewarding to hear back from our guests and I do hope the low beams did not disturb your stay.

Thank you again and please do come and stay again on your next journey down from Cheltenham.

Warm regards

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch with family as treat coming up to Christmas. The Jazz band played throughout and the food was amazing. A few little issues regarding the Children's menu not having the Sunday lunch available so she had an adults meal, also beware they add the service charge on the bill.

Dear Jan_Andy2013,

thank you so much for this first-rate review of your visit to our Thames View Restaurant.

I was thrilled to read how happy you were with the food quality and the live entertainment and have made sure the team have seen your comments.

You will be pleased to hear, that Claus, my food and beverage manager, has already briefed everyone to make sure half portions of the Sunday lunch menu are available for children. I am sorry this wasn't the case when you visited.

Service charge is added to all bills, but as with most properties, this is an optional charge and removal will never be queried.

I look forward to welcoming you back here with us in Windsor soon.

Warm regards

One tip transform the spa it is very dated and tacky. You need to spend to get this sorted.
