We stayed at Abbots Grange on 16th and 17th November also, but don't recognise the place from the last review. We were meeting 2 sets of friends to celebrate a 50th. We were met by a pleasant host Richard who served tea in the great hall, an amazing room with an amazing tea. the owners own Huffkins, an award winning chain of teashop in the Cotswolds, so as you might imagine, the afternoon tea in front of a roaring open fire was simply delightful. We had champagne and the owners booked us in at full restaurants for both nights as we had not been organised in advance,

For breakfast we could choose anything and our needs were more than met. Ne of our party had got confused and ordered by mistake but this was very professionally managed by Topsy and a no fuss substitute delivered and it was truly sumptuous.

We actually never smelt dogs and when my dog loving husband beckoned one from his quarters the dog was so well teamed it would not go out.

The rooms and location were awesome. We have travelled the world extensively but this was truly one of the most amazing stays ever, to be in a 1300 abbots Cotswold stone manor with 5 star service and a 4 poster room that was in the centre of Broadway could not have been better. So often hotel stays are impersonal and full of extras, but here everything was truly no trouble and from robes to water, champagne, fresh fruit, afternoon tea and a fabulous breakfast and shortbread and coffee in the rooms, everything was offered without an additional charge, we even had complimentary sherry whisky and port to help ourselves to in the great hall during the evening, so we were truly pampered. If you have a group get together the great hall and circular dining is perfect.

We will be back.

Kind regards

Karen

Room Tip: The Morris room has both a king size four poster and a wet room.

We booked at Abbots Grange for a 2 night stay at the start of November, having chosen it because it looked from the website to be somewhere that little bit special and different: not only did it not disappoint but utterly exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed on our arrival by Topsy, who was nothing but friendly, accommodating and helpful throughout the duration of our stay. She showed us the breakfast room, the Great Hall and to our room. We had booked the Monet, which has a separate but exclusive-use bathroom, and was beautifully furnished and decorated, including a wonderfully comfortable four-poster bed, tea and coffee making facilities and complementary bottled water. The room looked onto the beautiful gardens, where we could see the croquet pitch, for use in summer, and seating areas. We had ordered a cream tea on our arrival, which was served to us in the Great Hall by the fireside. This room is simply stunning, with a high, beamed roof, a large open fireplace, big comfy sofas, with cushions and blankets, and lots of candles. There's also a beautiful chess set to use as well as a bookshelf just outside with other games for guests to use. The cream tea was delicious and substantial - 3 different types of sandwich in homemade breads (Topsy and family also run bakeries!), 3 huge cakes, a chocolate bombe containing milk, dark and white chocolate mousses, a white chocolate pyramid drizzled with dark chocolateand filled with a mango cream and a banoffee pie, the favourite of my partner who devoured it despite claims of being completely stuffed. There were also 4 large and sumptuous scones, complete with strawberry jam and clotted cream, which Topsy informed us had won awards and justifiably so, as they were delicious! We had tea and coffee and Topsy also offered us a complementary glass of prosecco with our afternoon tea, which we gratefully accepted. This was truly a five-star experience. We popped out after tea to explore the local eateries, which are plentiful and varied, and had a quick drink in one of the pubs but returned to take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere of the Great Hall, which really came into its own after dark, with firelight, candlelight, tasteful spotlighting and music and we happily spent the rest of our evening here, soaking it all up and enjoying a complementary sherry - there is also port, whisky and a selection of soft drinks and fruit in the Great Hall, again, all complementary. Breakfast the following morning was served round a circular wooden table in another beautifully furnished and peaceful room. Topsy brought us a basket of toast and there was fresh filter coffee and a variety of lovely teas. To begin with, you could choose from a selection of cereals and fruits, including a delicious granola with yoghurt and stewed mixed red berries to top it off. The selection of hot breakfasts was excellent. I chose scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon on day one and my partner had the full English, then on day 2 I went for poached eggs on toast with bacon and my partner chose the same but with kippers instead of bacon. The quality of the food was outstanding and it was very nicely presented as well as being cooked to perfection. For eating out in the evenings, you are spoiled for choice in Broadway. Topsy helpfully recommended some good places and we booked into The Swan, which was excellent. If you're staying on a Friday or Saturday night it's essential to book to eat somewhere in advance as it really does get very packed out everywhere. Finally, on the morning we were leaving, we couldn't get hold of a taxi to return to the station, so Richard very kindly drove us into Moreton on his way out, a gesture that was much appreciated but was also typical of the outstanding service, attention to detail and friendliness we experienced from both Topsy and Richard thought our stay.

Absolutely the five-star experience: we will certainly be back. Thank you for making our stay so very special.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Broadway, this B&B is an absolute gem.
The location is very quiet, yet only 3 minutes walk from town. We stayed here for 2 nights, drove around the area.
There are a lot of nice touches to the room, and our stay was very comfortable.
High recommended to those who are looking for a short get away to the country side.

We stayed here for one night in September and I have to say it was superb. The room was lovely, with a separate wc and shower room. Very spacious, and very quiet location. Very comfortable spacious bed and nice touches around the room.

Broadway is a nice little village and we enjoyed wandering around here. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars and some good little shops, all within easy walking distance.

Back to the hotel, if you travel by car then parking is easy and secure as you need a code to get through the gate. One small niggle, a light on the keypad at the gate in the evening would have been useful - or take a torch with you as it is dark walking back up the path to the gate.

There is a super Baronial type hall in the Abbots Grange which, in the evening comes into its own. They light a super fire and the room is both cosy and comfortable.

There are nice little touches like the complimentary alcoholic or soft drinks - but just to sit and relax in this space is a joy in itself.

We slept perfectly - it was so quiet.

Breakfast is taken around a large round table which, from memory, sits about 8. The breakfast produce is both first rate quality and superbly tasty. Service is slick and friendly.

Although the surroundings of the place are welcoming and without fault, it was the staff who really made our stay. You are made to feel like part of the family as you are really staying in their home. (The family live on the premesis)

All in all we had a five star stay here and I cant wait to return one day.

I cant recommend this place highly enough - Well done to all at Abbots Grange

I had the pleasure of staying here while touring in the Cotswolds. The building is very unique, and the rooms have been decorated with care and excellent taste. Everything is beautifully maintained - including the extensive garden. The breakfast room is lovely, and the food was beautifully cooked and nicely served. Broadway is an interesting place to explore, and there is much to see in the surrounding area. If you choose to stay here, you will NOT be disappointed.

When you see so many great reviews, you have to wonder if a place can live up to your expectations. Abbots Grange most definitely exceeded our expectations. We arrived by car from London. We had been to Broadway years ago, but only briefly, so we knew that was the best location and one of the better Cotswolds towns. The Grange is down a lane just off Church Lane which is just steps off the green. The Inn itself could not be more beautiful and ancient and historic. All things we enjoy. Our room was the Millett room which has windows on three sides over looking the lawns. The linens and amenities were all 5 star. There was a coffee and tea tray in the room which we loved having. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. We went to The Swan every evening. The Cotswold way goes right through Broadway and we walked quite a bit. The great hall is wonderful to sit and have a drink with the other guests. The staff was great: coffee and tea trays in front of the fire on arrival and one afternoon after eating our take out sandwiches in the garden. There is no question that we will be back.

Room Tip: There are 4 rooms. 3 are en suite. The 4th has it's bathroom across the hall but when you see...

On arrival we were indeed "wowed" by the first view we had of Abbots Grange. On holiday with our American friends we felt thrilled that we had chosen just the right place for us all to stay and we weren't disappointed! A stones throw from the lovely village of Broadway but tucked away in a quiet corner it is just in the most perfect setting. The welcome we had from Stacey was very warm and we were shown around the ground floor before being taken up to our wonderful bedrooms. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The en-suite bathroom was clean and had all the necessary shampoos, conditioners, body lotions and soaps needed. The towels were very good quality. This really is a five star experience and as it was quite a chilly evening we were treated to a log fire in the Great Hall with lit candles along with the complimentary whisky, sherry or port. The atmosphere was amazing in such an old house. Breakfast saw us in a lovely panelled dining room sitting around a table with some Australian guests. It was nice to have a melange of nationalities around the one table! Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best we had on our travels around the Cotswolds. It really was very hard to leave Abbots Grange for our next destination but it wont be our last visit. We are very much looking forward to returning in the near future. We would like to thank the owners of Abbots Grange for allowing us to experience a unique bed and breakfast stay in their wonderful home.
