We recently stayed one night at this lovely hotel to break our journey to Cornwall, it turned out to be a very good choice.
We parked in the hotels car park which we accessed from the front of the hotel. There is a barrier to prevent non residents parking.
Room number 19 is one of the dog friendly rooms and although it was very small ( not much floor space for our cases) it was ideal for us, with our own patio area overlooking the garden and the residents terrace. It has a beautiful sunny aspect and it would have been very tempting just to relax there but we wanted to explore the quaint town of Broadway!!
The room was very tastefully decorated, and the teddy bear on the comfortable memory foam bead was a lovely touch!!!! I was glad that I brought my own hair dryer as the one provided was the low voltage type that you usually find wall mounted in washrooms etc, and wouldn't have been much use for us ladies who want to style our hair!!!
The bathroom was very pleasant, clean and well appointed with a selection of Molton Brown toiletries for us to use. If I had been staying there longer I might have made use of the bath and the plastic duck waiting for us!!!!
That evening we ate in the County Bar with the dogs. This hotel is very dog friendly, one of the locals came in with his dog who immediately kept up onto a bar stool!!! The food we had was lovely, I was a bit disappointed not to see more healthy options ( for some strange reasons just felt like a salad that night!!) and I did feel a bit stuck for choice, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I did have, chicken breast in flatbread with home made onion rings and fries. The drinks were very reasonably priced also which makes a change for a hotel
We checked out the next day regretting that we were only staying one night, and we were served our breakfasting the sitting room ( as we had the dogs). It funny how you always have a cooked breakfast when you are away but you wouldn't usually bother at home, well this cooked breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE. Just about the best I have ever had!!! The waitress was lovely and friendly, as we're all the hotel staff . I still managed to squeeze in something from the cold buffet in the main restaurant ( well you have to don't you???)
The reception staff are all lovely and helpful. My main contact thoughout the booking and the stay was with Debbie. She is a credit to the hotel. It was the first time we have taken dogs to a hotel and we had decided that if it went well then we would do it again. We obviously chose a good hotel to start with.
Hotel staff that welcome your dogs and actually LIKE dogs make a massive difference to your stay. I appreciate that not everyone likes dogs and believe that there are plenty of hotels to cater for them.
I loved everything about Broadway, the shops, the scenery, the atmosphere, and last but not least, this lovely hotel. I am sure we will return again one day!!
