We live locally, but stayed for two nights for our civil partnership. Firstly we went to hotel to collect a brochure as we were looking for somehwere local to have our wedding. We ended up being totally swept off our feet with the hotel, its set up for the wedding and also the brilliant staff especially the events manager Katie.

The rooms through out the hotel are all brilliant and wehad approx 40 rooms booked with our family and friends and everyone of them said how good the rooms were. Lots of different decors to suit many different tastes! The function room, terrace, lounge and dining room are all decorated elegantly and capture the real character of the hotel.

Food- we ate at the restaurant the evening before the ceremony and the food, service and ambiance in the restaurant were all perfect! As for the wedding breakfast, how they managed to get our food out to all of our guests so well cooked and with what seemed like seamless precision was amazing! And as we all hit the restaurant at a similar time the next morning (with a few bad heads!) for breakfast the kitchen and the waiting staff coped brilliantly with the rush and kept on top of everything.

There was an advert in the rooms saying that the hotel has recently been voted the second most romantic hotel in the UK. All of our guest were saying "Wow, if this is second then I would love to see what won!"

Overall an excellent hotel, brilliant staff and service, great food, beautiful location. Well worth a vist and definitely for a wedding if you are considering it!

Room Tip: Tell them the style you like as the hotel has lots of different decors, modern, classic, contemporary, traditional..

We have just returned from our third stay at The Dormy House to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it just keeps getting better and better! We stayed in the penthouse which is fantastic, the bed is HUGE and so comfy, it is beautifully furnished and decorated and has some nice toiletries in the bathroom. The other parts of the hotel are less modern than the penthouse but charming and cosy, especially the sitting room with the open fire. All the staff are so helpful and attentive. We ate in the Barn Owl Brasserie this time (have eaten in the Dining Room on other occasions but fancied a change) and we weren't disappointed - I thought the food was just as delicious and I preferred the more relaxed, informal atmosphere of the Barn Owl. At the end of the meal our puddings were brought out with 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate on the plate which was lovely. Little things like that make you feel special and looked after, like the Dormy House staff really want you to enjoy your stay and come back. And we certainly will - soon I hope!

Room Tip: The penthouse is worth paying that bit more for.

What a delightful hotel this is, excellent staff who are interested in making your stay memorable, we will certainly be back. We wre offered a dinner bed abd breakfast rate and the food was takein in the bistro, I think next time we will try for the restaurant which is more formal and what we like. The breakfast are second to none, and whilst the hotel was full service was excellent.

Excellent location food was very good but the service was lacking.
Not what I am used to and should be much better. Slow, hard to get attention of waiting staff and had to ask more than once for basic attention.

The Dormy House sits upon a lovely hill, down a sunny lane in the idyllic Cotswolds. Each room is unique in the old house, with plenty of exposed beams, twisting passages, and charm-galore. The lounge/bar area has plenty of dark wood, elegant furnishings and a crackling fire.

The food is really spectacular. I'm entirely comfortable claiming that this is the best food I had after 6 weeks in England!

The other notable chatacteristic is the wonderful service provides by the entire staff. I had a sick friend with me - and they did everything they could to make her stay more comfortable.

They also had a very nice gym space in a well lit room (skylights) and options for walks nearby as well.

Only possible downside is popularity of the spot for weddings.
