“A real treat”

Just love Dormy house. We held our wedding reception 22 years ago and have been back time and time again. It never disappoints. Old world charm, comfort and courtesy with excellent food in a beautiful setting.

We stayed in Holly Cottage which was beautifully appointed, quiet and with its own private patio garden. The food was excellent, the staff charming and attentive and the hotel was tastefully decorated, well maintained, elegant but not pretentious. Up there amongst the best hotels that we have stayed in!

We attended a Wedding at Dormy House, if we had know the difference would have arranged transport ( important ) and stayed at the Estate, the difference is huge, okay you only get a basic - but clean double room, but has functional bathroom, flat screen TV Tea and Coffee facilities.
But the service, Andy the site / reception manager, was brilliant - when we couldn't find the Rugby on anywhere in picture perfect Broadway, and they didn't have the one Sky Channel it was on, got a laptop, used his own subscriptoon, set it up in a conference room, we had an excellent BBQ organised by the Centre, could bring our own drinks before the bar was open, all the staff were excellent, were allowed to carry on drinking our own drinks after the bar closed, and not moved out of the room, breakfast was excellent, late 12.30 check out - Service and value for money - Excellent.

Room Tip: Clean functional double room.

Recently attended a Wedding at Dormy House, and the venue and wedding and wedding breakfast and bar were excellent. - Lovely.
However we were unlucky with our room, small, overlooked the boiler room for the Spa, which isn't the end of the world as a couple of rooms will have less exciting views, but the carpets were old, the decor was torn and patched, the ensuite wasn't great, tv was tiny, no fridge, fine for £80 very poor for £150.
Breakfast was poor, one slice of bacon, one sausage one egg, duty manager gave the impression that he was doing you a favour by being there, poorly presented - low standards.

Room Tip: Look at your room before you commit.

We live locally, but stayed for two nights for our civil partnership. Firstly we went to hotel to collect a brochure as we were looking for somehwere local to have our wedding. We ended up being totally swept off our feet with the hotel, its set up for the wedding and also the brilliant staff especially the events manager Katie.

The rooms through out the hotel are all brilliant and wehad approx 40 rooms booked with our family and friends and everyone of them said how good the rooms were. Lots of different decors to suit many different tastes! The function room, terrace, lounge and dining room are all decorated elegantly and capture the real character of the hotel.

Food- we ate at the restaurant the evening before the ceremony and the food, service and ambiance in the restaurant were all perfect! As for the wedding breakfast, how they managed to get our food out to all of our guests so well cooked and with what seemed like seamless precision was amazing! And as we all hit the restaurant at a similar time the next morning (with a few bad heads!) for breakfast the kitchen and the waiting staff coped brilliantly with the rush and kept on top of everything.

There was an advert in the rooms saying that the hotel has recently been voted the second most romantic hotel in the UK. All of our guest were saying "Wow, if this is second then I would love to see what won!"

Overall an excellent hotel, brilliant staff and service, great food, beautiful location. Well worth a vist and definitely for a wedding if you are considering it!

Room Tip: Tell them the style you like as the hotel has lots of different decors, modern, classic, contempora...

We have just returned from our third stay at The Dormy House to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it just keeps getting better and better! We stayed in the penthouse which is fantastic, the bed is HUGE and so comfy, it is beautifully furnished and decorated and has some nice toiletries in the bathroom. The other parts of the hotel are less modern than the penthouse but charming and cosy, especially the sitting room with the open fire. All the staff are so helpful and attentive. We ate in the Barn Owl Brasserie this time (have eaten in the Dining Room on other occasions but fancied a change) and we weren't disappointed - I thought the food was just as delicious and I preferred the more relaxed, informal atmosphere of the Barn Owl. At the end of the meal our puddings were brought out with 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate on the plate which was lovely. Little things like that make you feel special and looked after, like the Dormy House staff really want you to enjoy your stay and come back. And we certainly will - soon I hope!

Room Tip: The penthouse is worth paying that bit more for.

What a delightful hotel this is, excellent staff who are interested in making your stay memorable, we will certainly be back. We wre offered a dinner bed abd breakfast rate and the food was takein in the bistro, I think next time we will try for the restaurant which is more formal and what we like. The breakfast are second to none, and whilst the hotel was full service was excellent.
