Booked a "Splendid" room, very nice and clean, great bathroom but felt it was a bit cramped.Seating could have been arranged a bit better in regards to relaxing at the end of the night watching TV.Bed very comfortable and nice quiet room.First night ate in Potting Shed a bit disappointed seemed to be rushed with coarses.Second night ate in Garden Room which was excellent, staff very helpful.Spa and swimming area spotless wish we could have made more of it.
They have done a fantastic job with the place and will be going back.
The bib bits asset they have is their very helpful staff, well done.

Room Tip: Spend that bit more for a special treat.

After trying to visit in April but cancelled due to my work commitments, we finally made it to the newly opened Dormyhouse Spa.
The spa is lovely compact but comfortable. The service that myself and partner received was of the highest standard, From the start of my booking via email and the spa reception staff right through to the treatments themselves was 5 star.
I have been to many spas varying in prices and facilities but this has to be one of the best.
Our only comment would be with regards to the poolside seating and the lack of it. We visited on a week day but I can imagine how busy and lack of space there would be on a weekend.
We cant wait to come again and hopefully stay overnight next time,
Thank you for a lovely experience

The hotel is fabulous, especially now it has all the Spa facilities.
The handled a small issue I had (balcony door rattled in the wind disturbing sleep) straight away and fixed it by fitting draught excluder.
The other irritation was they served the main courses at dinner straight away after starters. It felt like they wanted us to leave the restaurant quickly so they could lay up for breakfast. This was in spite of us requesting a break between courses. Next time I'll order mains when I have had starters and enough time for a chat between courses.

My wife and I booked a two night "Staycation" at the DHH over the late May Bank Holiday. Having read some of the TA reviews, I was a little intrigued as to how we would "find" it. I shouldn't have worried. From the brilliant reception staff who explained everything and then took us on personal tour of the Hotel (facilities, Spa and restaurants, etc.), which made us feel very special and welcomed. We stayed in room 17, which is more like a terraced cottage, and it was delightful. Everything had been thought of - free WiFi, Krups 'Nespresso' coffee machine with ample pods, "tablet" pc to access guest relations and the internet, 2 TVs, sofa seating area, walk-in 'rain' shower, etc. etc. You can park quite close to these rooms. It is excellently situated near the top of "Fish Hill" , just above Broadway. Pretty close to the epicentre of the Cotswolds.

Dinner can be served in either restaurant - the Garden room or the Potting shed. The GR was the more upmarket of the two, but my advise would be to use the PS, as breakfast are served in the GR anyway !! Push a little and you can access either/both menus. The service is second to none. It has an excellent wine list. The breakfasts were to die for.

The Spa is heaven. Make sure you access all the various spa rooms - excellent. Some reviews have complained about the lack of lounger beds. I was told the hotel was fully booked when we were there and we had no problems accessing adjacent beds in either the pool room or the veranda area upstairs. The background music was always there but never intrusive and very conducive to rest. We chilled out fully in our short stay.

Just about the only things we noticed that could have been improved were: a lack of tidiness around the jacuzzi area (dead leaves, etc); being asked by room service, in the middle of getting dresses for dinner if we wanted a "turn down service" - in this day and age, way over the top !! A really nice touch would be for the reception staff on first contact (phone, etc) when booking, would be to ask if you preferred soft, medium or hard mattresses or pillows !! That would be something !!

As you can see, we felt it was amazing and we will return.

Room Tip: Use the website and ask for advise over the phone.

Well overdue for a break, we came across the Dormy House. What a find! From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. They even let us have breakfast and use the spa even before we checked in. Spa absolutely superb and the therapists skilled and engaging. They have facilities to allow couples to enjoy treatments together and helped us plan a few sessions that worked like a dream. All meals well up to standard and the gourmet menu really delivered the goods. But overall what stood out was the quality of the staff - their ability interact effectively with the guests, including us, was world class. A great team. Beautiful and interesting interior design. The spa included steam rooms, a multi-mode shower including 'tropical storm' (well worth a try), a splendid swimming pool and a jacuzzi. Situated in lovely countryside and close to many pretty Cotswold villages. For those seeking to relax, this gets 6 stars.

My wife and I (and our family) have been longstanding customers and supporters of the DH as visitors to their restaurants. Since their upgrade we have managed to have one very excellent sunday lunch in the potting shed but when contacting them subsequently on several occasions have been told sorry we are fully booked. Today after leaving the adjacent golf club we dropped round to the DH potting shed at 13.10 hrs to find just three of the many tables occupied and when asking for a table for lunch was told by a waitress after checking with "someone" sorry we are fully booked. My wife on enquiring about the many vacant tables was told they were all reserved "for future use" but they were no table notices to indicate this and as long standing customers feel saddened to be treated like this by an old friend (or so we thought!)

I'm so sorry that we were unable to accommodate you when you last visited Dormy House. We operate a table booking system, which, depending upon the time of the bookings, can sometimes make the restaurant appear empty, whilst we wait for diners to arrive. I'm sorry if this wasn't explained fully to you. We're in the lucky position of being very popular and we will therefore be introducing all day dining in the Potting Shed over the summer in order to ensure that we don't have to disappoint anyone.

As a long standing friend of The Dormy, I hope that you will give us another chance and we can look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Please do contact me directly so that I can take care of the arrangements personally for you.
