“Beautiful hotel, delicious food, amazing service.”
Reviewed 30 April 2010

I spent three nights at the Dormy House hotel near Broadway in the Cotswolds with my boyfriend. The hotel is beautiful - picture-perfect. Our room (number 15), one of the superior rooms, was really spacious, light, airy and luxurious. We dined in the Bar two nights and in the Restaurant (slighty more expensive) one night - both served excellent food and the service was brilliant - attentive, but unstuffy and unobtrusive . All the staff are lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You need a car to get into Broadway and to visit the surrounding villages. I'd heartily recommend this fantastic hotel to those people who are looking for a quiet, cosy, pretty place to stay with delicious food and lovely staff.

Stayed one night whilst touring the Cotswolds. The hotel was easy to find and car parking plentiful .

We had a small ground floor suite in the hotel grounds [a short walk from the main building with an outdoor but not private seating area ], with plenty of opening windows and doors.

The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The spacious ensuite bathroom was well planned and supplied with plenty of towels, bathrobes etc....Toiletries were adequate.

The suite sitting room was nice and the entire suite including the bathroom had "touch" lighting to change the mood. There was a refrigerator with fresh milk and kettle for tea & coffee but no mini bar.

The bar and lounge areas were friendly warm and comfortable with a log fire . We never found the gym or sauna whilst wandering the grounds which are well manicured.

We took dinner in the main restaurant which we found very disappointing indeed. Whilst the service was friendly and efficient, the food was really quite horrible. Breakfast the following day though was good.

In summary it's a lovely friendly hotel [good 4star] in a peaceful location above Broadway
- and we would return - but we'd have to have some assurance about the quality of the food before eating in the main restaurant again - it really spoilt our stay - hence overall rating of just 3/5.

Travelled to the Dormy with 7 family members for a wedding. Beautiful hotel and top class members of staff. We had 4 rooms between us which were all located very close without us having to ask. Didnt really spend much time in the room as was there for a wedding. Its all very lovely but i was surprised at how small the room was. The bed was massive ( we had a double room ) but took up most the room. Bathroom was tiny, but again perfectly clean. We had a tiny tv but next door they had a double room too but with a massive slim tv fitted on the wall. Luck of the draw i guess!!

My family and friends join us on our amazing day at the Dormy House Hotel. I could not recommend this hotel any more to anyone if you are thinking of staying.
The check in ,service, hotel, food & rooms are all excellent.
We got married at the hotel at 15.00hrs and had our wedding breakfast at 16.45 followed by out evening reception at 19.30 with a disco until 12.00 midnight. The hotel is very accomodating and nothing was to much trouble and service was always with a smile. They helped me organize everything that i wished for.
The Selection for food available was vast and we we more than happy with our choices. We could not fault anything in anyway.
It was a great pleasure to hear such good remarks and comments from all of our guests that joined us on our special day and we felt proud to of choosen such a amazing hotel.

Thanks very much to all the staff at the Dormy XX

Nice hotel, staff pleasant and helpful, but the restaurant is way over priced. My dinner was very small, my wife's fish was rubbery, practicably inedible. I would recommend staying there but don't eat at the main restaurant.

Just back after a very decadent 2 night break at Dormy House. Lovely setting. Very warm and welcoming. All staff extremely helpful and accomodating. We ate in the restaurant on both nights and the food was fabulous. The Maitre D was excellent as were all the Restaurant staff. Our room was located in the Danish Courtyard which was very clean and comfortable. Although not a very big room, the high beamed ceiling made it feel bigger. The addition of window locks would add to the opportunity for natural ventilation overnight. Ensuite was lovely with a very spatious bath but the shower was a bit sluggish!
All in all a really lovely place and we wil definitely return.

picturesque Cotswold settling, but the room was really cramped for £150 per night. some of the staff were really helpful and pleasant, a few were unhelpful and unpleasant. the room was beautifully clean, but the bed was too hard. With the snow outside, the room was very warm, but the central heating was very noisy. The little freebies were poor -- only one shower cap, cheap biscuits, cheap teabags. We had to walk outside in the freezing cold to get to the main building. The breakfast was excellent, but the main meal was mix I found lamb to tough to eat, but others liked it. The vegetables were greasy. The lemon tart was very tasty but had a liquid consistency.the starter, a crab pate , on smoked salmon, was delicious but the accompanying capers were unpopular at our table.
