“Relaxed stay in Broadway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

This is our second stay at The Crown and Trumpet and on both occasions we were made to feel very welcome by Andy the owner.
The inn has a very old fashioned feel as England used to be!
We particularly liked the coal fire and the great atmosphere especially the live music on Saturday evening with Paul Anthony.
We had a very enjoyable evening meal followed by a home cooked breakfast in the morning.
Andy as usual was "The hostess with the mostest" and was in fine fom and left us with a smile on our faces!
Hope to stay again soon

After staying at this wonderful English Inn for one night in November, which included a Jazz Band, we were so impressed that my husband and I decided to book for 3 nights over Christmas. We arrived to be greeted by Andrew, the owner, a roaring fire and a welcoming glass of mulled wine. Our room and bathroom were perfect, large and very clean. Having eaten here on our first visit to the Inn, we knew the food to be wholesome, plentiful and well cooked. On Christmas Eve I chose Duck & Apricot sausages on a mound of mashed potatoes. My husband went for the Fish and Chips. Both very good choices,

Our Christmas lunch also did not disappoint, Our only criticism of this occasion would be the close arrangement of the tables to accommodate everyone. All of the staff at the Inn were helpful, happy, polite and hardworking. Well done all who made this such a great success.

On Boxing Day Broadway High Street comes alive with the gathering of the local Hunt and the Morris dancers, who were indeed energetic and excellent.

We will be returning to the Crown and Trumpet Inn in the future and would certainly recommend a visit to sample the wonderful Real Ales, good hearty food and a great atmosphere.

Room Tip: Not enough knowledge of this.

We were staying in one of the cottages owned by the pub so we took the opportunity to have our christmas day meal here too. The staff were lovely throughout and made us feel welcome as well as festive. Obviously the kitchen was busy but everything came out steaming. There were 5 courses and all of them were very hearty, if anything too much food for us and we skipped the final course.
Although the meal was pre-booked I had not realised that my dish of salmon would come with quite so much of the cream sauce. Regrettably I am lactose intolerant and there was a tad too much to just push away. No problem, the lovely waitress took it back to the kitchen and explained my difficulty. Chef quickly did me another salmon and within 10 minutes I had a completely fresh meal. Most striking of all was that they realised that I would want to eat with my partner, and so took his away too, to be returned piping hot along with mine.
I simply cannot fault this level of service and both my husband and I had a great meal. No it wasn't cordon blue standard but it was very very good and incredibly excellent value for money. Anybody who thinks otherwise wants to try eating on Broadway High Street where 'ripoff' is very evident.
Thank you to the lovely staff on Christmas day.

We stopped at this little inn (just off the main street in Broadway) for lunch, one wet and windy day just before Christmas. The welcome from the landlord and his staff was as warm as the fire blazing away in the hearth!, and the locals were friendly and chatty too....This ambience along with the cosy, traditionally styled interior, made for a very warm feeling on a very cold and wet day!
An excellent selection of hand-pumped ales was on offer at the bar, and an extensive selection of food was displayed on the chalk-board menu. As a pair of cold, thirsty and ravenous "old crows", we plumped for the warming Venison Sausages in an onion gravy on a bed of buttery mashed potato!!...and aren't we glad we did!....they were succulent and superb!...well done to the cheery young barmaid who recommended them!!...And the cook who prepared them too! This hearty feast was supplemented by a couple of pints of a rich, dark ale, almost like a liquid Christmas pud!.....what a glorious lunch, what a glorious pub!!....Will definitely be calling back!

Room Tip: We did not stay on this occasion, so cannot comment on this side of the business at this time.

This is a lovely welcoming little pub up a side road in Broadway, so may be missed by some.

Warm welcome, lovely fires and a great ambience. No locals/visitor divide which is nice.

Food great and dogs made welcome.

We have even made some friends in here form our visits.

Have visited this establishment probably four or five times in the past year, when I've been in the area. Every time I have been made to feel most welcome by the staff. This time of year they have a lovely log fire burning which only adds to the ambiance. A great selection of real ales and are always superb. On my most recent visit I sampled one of the Christmas beers (Ding Dong) and it didn't disappoint. However, the beer was not the only delight to savour - the venison sausages, mash in onion gravy were out of this world. I'm salivating just writing this review. Don't take my word for it - go and try them! You'll see what I mean.
