“Ideal Quiet Retreat in the Countryside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Just returned from my fourth stay T The Crown & Trumpet Broadway. It is one of our favourite locations; stunning Market Town and the Crown & Trumpet offers a traditional pub atmosphere with excellent food, well priced! It has 6 bedrooms; all tastefully decorated in traditional styles. The owner and staff are all exceptionally helpful and always able to help.

An ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds.

Room Tip: All are very similar; but I think room 1 has a larger bathroom

Stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, room was small but ample for what we needed. Everyone very welcoming and helpful, andy the chef looked after us and made a lovely breakfast, nothing was to much trouble for him. We also enjoyed Toms sat night singalong, great atmosphere . Would def return.

Popped into this pub for a bite to eat at lunchtime having driven 2 hours to get to Broadway. The ambience is truly what a traditional pub should be with, thank goodness, no wooden floors or numbers on the tables. The staff are all very welcoming and cannot do too much for you, not at all over the top. The menu is fine with a good choice but it would have been nice to have had a jacket potato choice. The fish and chips that were coming out from the kitchen looked substantial and very appetising. There are also some very traditional puddings on the menu which again is good to see. The publican is one of the old school who actually seems to enjoy talking to his clientele.

All in all, this is a lovely pub in a beautiful village.

This is a first class pub. It really is one of the finest places we have stayed in. We have spent a lifetime travelling the world and can honestly say this is one of the finest pubs we have ever been in. The welcome was superb, the owner and all the staff were really friendly, the food was superb and served piping hot. It was a real pleasure and we can thoroughly recommend it.
The choice of beers, ciders and wines was brilliant.

Room Tip: Ask the Landlord. They all have interesting furniture in them.

A great pub! We were there for Jazz night. The food was excellent pub food, the music was superb (Tom Langham and Hot Fingers) and the beer was great! The staff were very friendly and not afraid to ask if everything was ok which it most certainly was. All in all we had a super night!

Our room was very small, with a double bed, but then it is a pub b&b. The bathroom needed updating and the shower didn't work too well. The worst thing was our room had the bins down below and foxes kept us awake for hours! The dinner menu is also very basic - if you are chicken and chips in a basket type person then you'll be happy enough. It was disappointing that you can't get fresh coffee even at breakfast. Surely they can do that.

August was when you state you allegedly stayed so it has taken you nine months to write this assessment. We have had no guests reporting any of these issues to us at all so “dear reader” make of this, as you want. Dealing with this rubbish, we have covered, metal bins and would have also seen the mess left behind if this ever happened. No such mess has ever been found. The patronizing comment about “Chicken in the basket” we do not do but have Poached Salmon and Chicken Chorizo amongst many other dishes all made on the premises and are very popular.
The breakfast is cooked to order and cannot be fresher.

Great location just off the high street. Room nicely furnished & a good size. My only gripe was that the room was too hot & there was no way to turn the rads off or down. A good selection of real ales in the bar & a lovely open fire. Love Broadway so we'll definitely be back.
