“A genuinely English experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2010

We didn't sleep here but had dinner three times and enjoyed an evening with live music. The food was great (try the Evesham pie with beef and plums!) or the Sunday roast which is massive. Great atmosphere, of course also due to Broadway being a quaint, typically English village. Highly recommended.

My husband and I spent two nights in the Crown and Trumpet in June 2010. We enjoyed our stay very much and found the food very good and the staff mosy helpful and pleasant.
The bedroom was just as we would have expected of a country pub not luxurious but adequate for our needs. We would stay there again if visiting the Cotswolds and would recommend it if you are looking for good value for money and pleasant staff.

I stayed at the Crown & Trumpet for the weekend of 25th June with my two daughters and found excellent hospitality, a friendly host who had really good knowledge of the area and places to visit. Our room was comfortable and quiet and the breakfast was great. We are definitely planning another visit.

My husband and I have stayed at The Crown And trumpet on three occassions. The pub is charming and authentic, food is good but vegetarians are neglected. Service is good and rooms are reletively clean, but, and there is a big BUT, when you have enjoyed a long day walking and an evening of entertainment at The Crown and Trumpet and you are looking forward to a good nights sleep, you are sadly disappointed by the bed which feels as old as the building itself. The mattress has no support and you roll together. If you have a back or neck problem it is impossible to get a wink of sleep. No, Andrew we will not be coming back! I posted a review in April but I do not see it so I have tried once again.

We loved this place.

My wife and I and our 2 kids (8 and 12 years old) stayed here for 4 nights and we recommend it highly. Everyone there made us feel part of the family. The small staff gets to know you quickly and you feel like they are all friends. The owner, Andrew, was always cheerful and full of stories and suggestions/ideas for how to spend our day.

we were looking for an “authentic” experience and this was exactly right. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, instead they are running a real Cotswolds pub and you are invited into their world for your stay.

Our table was waiting for us every morning when we came down for breakfast (the kids had a full english breakfast almost every day). We also ate dinner here almost every night and really enjoyed the food - everything home made - from fish and chips to Worcester Pie.

Our kids loved the house cats (the outdoor black cat and snowie, the kitten, who lived inside) and felt free to wander the area and come and go as they pleased. We watched a few world cup games on the HD TV in the pub with all the locals and loved the scene. We were even treated to a local Mummers show one night.

The town of Broadway was a great leaping off point for everything we wanted to do, it is beautiful. There is an amazing playground for the kids with equipment I have never seen in the US. plus a basketball court and soccer field. There are plenty of walking trails and it is within easy reach of many other towns and local attractions (the Cotswold Animal Farm is a great day for the kids). The people who lived in town were very friendly and we were able to strike up lots of conversations with people whenever we sat to eat, have tea or relax in a park.

We are finishing up a 5 week tour of europe - London, Cotswolds, Paris, Tuscany and Rome - and our kids just keep talking about the Crown and Trumpet as their favorite part of the trip and the Cotswolds as the place we have to return to.

Thank you Andrew, Andrew, Steven, Steven, Daniel (snowie’s owner) our morning breakfast waitress and everyone else there who made us feel so welcome.

If one enjoys a relaxed, atmospheric, traditional English Pub with good food and comfortable accommodation and terrific (free) music nights, then this is the one for you. We highly recommend you experience it.
Also Broadway is a delightful and interesting village set in the heart of the Cotswolds with a wealth of things to do close at hand.
