“Absolutely lovely!”

Mill Hay is a true gem! Annette made us feel at home immediately and prepared the most wonderful breakfast every morning. The rooms are wonderful - we had the room with balcony and enjoyed our prosecco and lunch from Daylesford Organic in the sun overlooking the beautiful garden. Annette recommended us nice restaurants and we chilled out in front of the fireplace with a nice aperitif before walking into town at night. We’ll be back! A wonderful choice for a romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Mill Hay Country House in Broadway, June 14th and 15th, 2011. Think of the best place you've ever stayed. This place will beat it. It's a place that will exceed even your imagination. You couldn't ask for more: wonderful hostess, stunningly beautiful location, gorgeous room, exceptional breakfasts, wonderful towns of Broadway and Snowhill and serenity personified.

Room Tip: Whatever you pay, it's worth it.

Words can hardly explain the wonderful experience we had at Mill Hay Country House - the ambiance, aesthetic, food, location, amenities exceeded our expectations.

After traveling around the world for four months aboard a cruise ship, we decided to spend another two weeks in GB, one week in the Cotswolds and one week in London. Our choice of accommodations in the Cotswolds couldn't have been better.

We arrived at Mill Hay Country House in the late afternoon and received a warm welcome and tour of the property from Elaine. She made certain that any and all of our needs were met and provided us with excellent information about the area.

Our room was beautiful and oh so comfortable, and the next morning we went downstairs and were treated to a magnificent breakfast, prepared to order and served by our hostess, Annetta - what a wonderful start to our visit in this charming area of the world.

We definitely plan on returning as soon as possible.

Mill Hay House is just lovely. Annetta made us feel so welcome, and her gourmet breakfasts are the best. Our Garden Room couldn't have been better. The town of Broadway is charming, with cute shops and great places to eat. It's also centrally located for exploring the Cotswolds. Loved every moment!

Room Tip: There are only three roms, so book in advance!

This beautiful home - and it is the owners' home - provides three rooms for guests. The large and comfortable public sitting room is a fine place to sip the complimentary sherry, and port provided for guests in almost empty decanters and the tiniest glasses imaginable. The house has been restored so as to largely preserve the essential character of the period building; however, the owners have made a few odd choices. For example, our room, the Rose Garden room, was finished with built-ins made from what appeared to be particle board or wood composite, and the same cheap "wood" was used in the bath, which had a Corian sink. Although the decor was tasteful, the use of inexpensive and inauthentic materials detracts from the feel of the rooms.

Also, our bath had only a tub, and no shower. There was no hose and nozzle attachment, as is common on better tub faucets, so it was very inconvenient for washing one's hair. The website says "traditional bath." I mistakenly took that to mean a bathtub with a shower above it. It would be very easy for the owners to clearly say "tub only." Earlier reviews indicate that another room lacks a door between the bath and bedroom. I do not know whether this inconvenience has been addressed.

The included breakfast was adequate but hardly gourmet. Some items are set out on a central table - juice, granola, breads, etc. - but if you arrive after the other guests you will not find the offerings to have been replenished. You will have what is leftover. The owner is very attractive and friendly and happy to chat as she provides your meal.

The house is very close to the adorable town of Snowshill, which has a classic pub that you should visit. It is also convenient for hiking up to the Broadway tower.

In sum, this is a nice place, with stunning views out of each window, but there is a sense of stinginess pervading what should feel like luxurious lodging.

We stayed at Mill Hay Country House for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and I could not have chosen a better setting.
We booked the Garden Suite given it was a special occasion and were impressed by the space and decor. The four poster bed was extremely comfortable, the shower cubicle had a choice of shower heads and the view over the gardens to the old watermill was perfect.
To round it all off, the gourmet breakfast was exquisite.
One word of advice however, is that the walk down the lane from the village at night needs a little care, especially after a few G & Ts!

I booked my parents into Mill Hay, having stayed in many other B&Bs in the Cotswolds. Mill Hay was by far the most amazing place I've visited in the Cotswolds. Amazing Manor House owned by a lovely family. Beautiful rooms with fabulous antiques. Perfect Cotswold experience.
