Description: Located in the centre of the High Street in the beautiful Cotswold village of Broadway, Prego is a restaurant that captures the essence of what makes Italian eating and drinking great: stylish but relaxed, elegant but unpretentious – a casa in the Cotswolds. Prego is the vision of retail legend George Davies, founder of Next, George at Asda and Per Una, and Barry Hancox, well known local restauranteur and hotelier. George and Barry are delighted to have Pietro di Marco, straight from his home in Florence, to be Head Chef at Prego. We opened our doors on 1st November 2012 and look forward to welcoming friends from near and far to Prego. Takeaway available all day too - including our fastly-becoming-famous pizzas, freshly made in our pizza oven.

Given the location bad appearance from the outside we were really expecting more wow ! Service was fine very friendly and keen but nothing you wouldn't get in a well run cafe! The good again was fine I had the crab spaghetti which seems slopped together on the plate and you couldn't really taste the crab ! Shame but maybe our fault expecting too much ! Still had a lovely evening !

Our third or four visit and standards are as high as ever. Good, fresh pleasantly served food at a reasonable price, although portions are on the small side. Finished with two of the best cappuccinos we have had in a long time. My only slight gripe is that with limited space and so many hard surfaces we were lucky to leave just as a large group arrived, as I suspect it would soon get very noisy.

If so - don't go. We thought that as this is an Italian style restaurant we would definitely get great coffee. My cappuccino was poor - warm and only a slight crema on top. However what was more disappointing was the service. We were served by a young lad - this was after sitting and waiting outside for several minutes, no one came to serve us and so I had to go in to the shop to order. The coffees seemed to take forever to come and when they came out - our table was still full of crockery from the last customers. However the lad continued to put the coffees down on the table - without cleaning the table. I asked him to clean the table and he didn't. He cleared the crockery away but the table was not wiped. This is not acceptable. There was also a hair in the milk that came and when I asked him for another jug of coffee - he didn't seem best pleased. Service poor. Coffee poor. Overall very disappointing and we will not be returning again.

We tried Prego for the first time on Friday - confusingly, our reservation couldn't be found - the girl had put us down for the following day. No fuss though, we were shown to a table where we were very comfortable. Service was good and friendly, and watched over by one of the owners, who manages the restaurant. This is how it should be.
The Boys shared the large antipasto platter; the girls the fish version. We were pretty full after that with some flat breads! Generous in quantity, excellent quality.
We all had home made pasta dishes to follow; three of us had crab spaghetti with chilli, one had pappardelle with beef. We all thought them delicious. We were too full to try pudding but maybe next time. We'll certainly be returning, it is local to our second home, and a welcome addition to Broadway.

We popped in a couple of times for coffee - and its very good indeed. We also had dinner there on one occasion and the food was very good indeed. We both had the home made lasagna and it was really lovely. The wine was great too - and all good value.
