We had a takeaway from here 2 weeks after their opening in Nov & were pleased. We ate in this time & if anything it's got better. From what I can gather for a while after their opening, there seemed to be a big problem with the consistency of the food...some happy, others really disappointed. Speaking to other customers in the village, Russell's now seems to have found the right level of consistency.
Haddock was enjoyable & batter crisp, chips also freshly cooked & reasonably generous portion wise. They aren't authentic mushy peas (dried marrowfat peas), but I'm happy with that. These are more like crushed fresh peas.
Service very good & attentive. It does get busy as it is relatively small.
As of Apr, it will be open 7 days a week.
