“Home cooking in the centre of Leicester”

Friendly service, great food and very reasonable prices. Try the pudding taster platter. One is enough for two not too greedy people. Can get very crowded & not a great deal of space. Worth the tight fit.

“Drabber than drab”
Reviewed 30 April 2014 via mobile

Oh dear, what a soulless miserable place, trying to be retro with dull dark brown wood, American big band music and a mature waitress dressed in a black on the knee dress with a frilly white apron.

We ordered scones - probably straight from the microwave oven - they had that warmed up texture and tasted of too much baking powder. The jam was red and the cream OK. Tea from the teapot was good.

I think this place gives English tourism a bad name. With a little more care it could fulfil its ambitions, but truly I imagined where we were sitting, was more akin to an undertaker's cafe, should one exist.

“I loved our visit to Mrs Bridges Tea Room”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

We called in at Mrs Bridges tea rooms for lunch on our way to Honeybourne. We had chicken, bacon and cheese sandwiches which were served HOT and tasted delicious, along with a cup of tea. We enjoyed the atmosphere of this olde worlde tea room which also sold a variety of teas, jams and chutneys. I bought some of these as presents for family. The service was quick and friendly even though they were busy. Well worth a visit if you want good tasty food served in a friendly atmosphere.
