“Lovely little restaurant with rooms”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

Very enjoyable stay in a wonderful part of England.

Beautiful spacious room, clean and warm.

Attentive staff and really great food. Super breakfast which they served til late.
Will visit again, I have eaten in the restaurant a few times but would really advise that you take a room.

Broadway is a lovely village too, ideal for a girly stay.

We booked several rooms at the hotel the week-end of our daughter's wedding. We were all made extremely welcome and shown to our rooms which were all well appointed and nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner on the Friday evening for 24 people and the service and quality of food was out-standing. The ambience of the building and surroundings made for a truly memorable evening. The owners could not have done more on the morning of the wedding, with hair-dressers and make-up people coming and going they took everything in their stride and were most accommodating. I can not speak more highly of the laid back comfortable atmosphere that is created by the host who puts everyone at ease.
Thank-you everyone at Russells for making my daughter's wedding such a day to remember.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor at the rear of the building which suited us. I am sure people unfamiliar...

We were most happy with our accommodations at Russell's. We stayed here for 4 nights, and found the staff most helpful and the room excellent. We were on the top floor so no one walking above us, and no one as it turns out on either side. The only negative is the stairs as you have to do 2 flights, but we were well able to do them and relished the quiet of being alone at the top of the place. The room was huge, with a king bed, plenty of closet space, mirrors, 2 comfy chairs, and a large bathroom that had a separate shower and tub. The tub was full size.
They have a towel warmer in the bathroom which is a lovely touch. They could supply hair conditioner but we went out and bought some. The town is very sweet and you have a choice of places to eat in addition to the hotel. Also the hotel provides a breakfast every morning cooked to order so it is much better than a breakfast buffet. We were pleased as could be with the set up.

Room Tip: We had room 4 which is the top room meaning no one is higher up than you. And it sits alone on the...

Charming family-run restaurant with 7 rooms in this equally charming village. The popular restaurant has a nice buzz and does capable slightly up-market food.

However genuinely friendly staff make this a particularly good place for a stay in the Cotswolds - good sized well equipped rooms - a very reasonably-priced and well-stocked honesty bar was another plus - normally I resent the prices hotels charge for their mini-bars but this was much the same as a pub.

Would definitely recommend for couples and tourists looking for some decent food in a small unpretentious hotel in a lovely part of the country.

Room Tip: Thick duvets may be too hot for some - put on the A/C before sleep

Visited Russells for dinner one evening whilst staying in Broadway. The staff were very friendly and helpful and food was excellent-crab cocktail and asparagus for starters and spinach gnocchi and brisket of beef for mains and shared the duo of creme brulee.
If we were in the area again would love to return and stay in their rooms as well!

Had a simply perfect two night stay at this wonderful restaurant. The room was quite superb, (we booked the 'Feature King-size' and it was one of the loveliest rooms we've ever stayed in. Food was quite fantastic, we have booked a DB&B deal, which included the table d'hote menu. It was a fair surcharge to have the a la carte, which we did. The staff were wonderful, the restaurant manager was delightful.

Room Tip: We booked the Feature Kingsize, (the suite was already booked) this I think was fortunate. I would...

I stayed at Russell's last night, breaking my journey on the way down to Cornwall. The hotel has a superb situation on the very picturesque high street. There are two car parking spaces at the front of the hotel, off road, but don't be disheartened if these are full as there is parking at the rear which is as equally convenient.

My greeting upon arrival was extremely warm and welcoming and, although I was earlier than planned, my room was ready. The room was lovely, I overlooked the High Street, but don't worry it is very sleepy and there was no road noise. The room was beautifully appointed and clean.

I ate in the restaurant in the evening, which was fabulous. Breakfast too was to. Die for, my scrambled eggs were done to perfection and they even had gluten free bread.

I can not rate the Russell highly enough, I will be back!
