This is a charming restaurant with rooms and it lives up to its promise in every way. We enjoyed first class dining in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Our food was very good indeed - the menu offered lots of choice it was hard to choose! We stayed in a lovely spacious room and the best bit of it all was the bathroom - I would have happily stayed in there all night! My friends and I were also excited by REN toiletries in the bathroom. All and all a very enjoyable stay - we'll be back!

I'm really suprised by the last review as I stayed at Russell's with my husband last week as a gift from his parents and had a completely different experience. We returned to London feeling truly revived after one of the most enjoyable breaks we've ever had within the UK. I came back telling all my friends about the wonderful staff, and how unusual it is to receive that level of service these days. The food was delicious (love the prawn cocktail starter!) and our room was perfect.

The service around breakfast time was awful and discourteous.
This was then compounded by the complete lack of customer service and focus by the owner Thankfully never to be repeated and I urge any prospective guests to give this place a wide berth.

We decided to spend the first night of our honeymoon at Russells on the strength of having seen it on a previous visit to Broadway and its website. On arrival we were greeted by helpful, friendly, non stuffy staff and shown immediately to our room. We stayed in number 7 which is a suite with whirlpool bath, walk through shower, tv, dvd, cd, ipod dock, huge bed etc etc - believe me it was really worth paying that little bit extra! We had dinner in the restaurant. It was a lovely meal and there is a flexible approach re mixing the set menu & a la carte menus. Breakfast the next morning was extensive; fruit, cereals, full english etc etc all cooked perfectly. The only small problem we encountered was with the bathroom light fuse which kept tripping. Although this was attended to by both the receptionist & Barry (who I believe is the owner) it refused to stay set. This in no way spoilt our stay and we accepted it as just 'one of those things' that does happen. We were given a reduction on our bill to compensate which we were not expecting & was greatly appreciated. We will definitely return.

Our room (no 5) had two armchairs (always a bonus) good lighting, no chintz (hurrah),the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower and free standing bath There were plently of towels (and staff were happy to provide more if required) and hot water ( so often not the case in other establishments).

We had a meal in the resturant which was excellent. The staff were all young (well they seemed so to us!!), but they ran the resturant very well.

Breakfast in the morning was very good you could have any combination of cooked breakfasts & or cereals , fruit etc etc, again the staff were very pleasant.

We thoughly enjoyed our stay.
