Was nervous about booking accommodation online as have had several disappointments in the past. This establishment is better than it appears as there is no possible way to describe the comfort and hospitality not to mention the charm and professionalism of its hosts Jenny and Andy. They have got is just right, the accommodation itself is of the highest quality and the personal touches surprise even those of us who have been travelling extensively. It is all done with such grace and tact that you find yourself feeling as if you have known the owners forever and yet at the same time you feel as if you are in your own home without having to lift a finger!
I am looking forward to another stay and will be taking my family to enjoy not only their wonderful hospitality but also to enjoy the village pubs and restaurants plus the lovely countryside.

This was our second visit at this time of year and we have already booked for the same time next year! We echo all the other reviewers. This is an outstanding establishment where nothing is too much trouble and the service and attention to detail is first class.

Jenni and Andy are superlative hosts who treat their guests like valued friends. A particular treat is the early evening mulled wine and mince pie get together at this time of year in a beautiful lounge with a wood burning fire. A lovely way to start the evening before a walk along the village to partake in the Christmas magic and dine in one of the many fine pubs. Jenni and Andy also welcomed in our relations who were caravanning nearby to join in the fun!

It's difficult to pull out the most outstanding features as everything is outstanding. I particularly appreciated the small touches such as a jug of fresh milk in the fridge every day and the provision of expensive coffee in the rooms!

The beds are huge and incredibly comfortable- the view from the bedroom window seems to go on forever- and the garden is visited constantly by an amazing variety of wild birds. Fortunately Andy is a bit of an expert on them and can tell you what they all are.

The quality of the food is stunning and the standards of cleanliness and hygiene the highest I have ever experienced. Again I loved the attention to detail - such as the breakfast grapefruit being served separately to the rest of the fruit salad! ( Those of us "of a certain age" on blood pressure medication can't eat grapefruit!)

All the guests we have met both times have been delightful. Jenni and Andy make you feel that they have all the time in the world to talk to you and that your comfort and well being is their top priority.

It's been a lovely break in a lovely establishment in a lovely village- says it all really.

Debbie and Rob

Room tip: I understand they are all lovely - we stay in Room 2 as we loved it the first time. This establishment is at the end of a long private road so all the rooms are quiet with expansive rural views.

We arrived at the B&B after a hectic car journey to be greeted by the host Jennie, with her lovely smile and hospitality. Tea and cakes were provided in the sitting room in front of a lovely log burner, lovely on a cold winter’s night. We were staying in room 1 which has lovely garden views. We awoke in the morning to the sight of frost covering the garden and hedges, it was like something from a Christmas card. The room was a good size with plenty of room and, on hospitality tray was a number of beverages with a bottle of wine and beer in the fridge, what more could you ask for. Breakfast was something else, a good selection of cereals, toast, fresh fruit and of course the hot breakfast menu. The full English is excellent with locally sourced food, the Broadway bangers are to die for. If you want 5* accommodation and the best hosts you could ask for then I would look no further, this is better that a 5 star hotel. Broadway is a lovely ten minute walk where you can find a number of pubs and restaurants. We will be definitley be returning to see Jenni and Andy again. Allan & Gillian

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Old Station House. So glad we chose to stay here. A lovely building with really good sized comfortable room. (Room 1). A super king sized bed meant a great sleep. Very quiet and peaceful.
Lovely bathroom with both bath and over shower. A great selection of beverages on hospitality tray plus small fridge with complimentary drinks. Home baked mince pies a real bonus.
Breakfast really good in lovely dining room. Really great selection of food well cooked and locally sourced.
B&B a ten minute walk into the centre so very convenient whilst very quiet. Very interesting with railway on doorstep. Should be really great once steam trains running again .
Apart from all the positive things about the accomodation and food what really makes the Old Station House special is Jenni. A very special lady who can,t do enough to ensure a great stay.
This is by far one of the best. We hope to return soon to this b&b and look forward to our next stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting first class accomodation with really kind attentive people.

Room tip: We had room 1. Good size. Super bed . Overlooked garden.
