Everything everyone else has written about Ella's warm welcome and the quirky-but-cosy eco getaway is true. We needed another relaxing weekend escape, somewhere that would give a complete change while only being an hour or so from home. Old Country House fitted the bill perfectly. We loved the grounds and the shelves of books and interesting magazines, many of which have an environmental theme. Did we switch off? Oh yes! And the breakfast was delicious too – as you'll discover when you pay a visit!

My partner and i stayed here for a weekend break and had a lovely time! The house is quirky (as old english houses often are with doors that don't quite fit in the frame and lots of little nooks and crannys to explore), Ella was very friendly and informative and makes a wonderful breakfast!

The land around the house is ever so peaceful, there are sheep, an orchard and lots of fields of various crops nearby.

We would highly reccomend staying here!

Ella has created an excellent up-market B&B out of part of her old family home, without disturbing its rural charm or compromising its eco-credentials.

If you are looking for a 'get away from it all' break, with good quality accommodation in an area of outstanding natural beauty, then give this a try.

It is about 15 mins drive from Malvern, tucked away down a network of country lanes (but we found it OK without a sat-nav).

There are a couple of local-ish hotel restaurants and two good pubs that do food, each within a short drive.

You have the use of a large traditional guest's country kitchen / dining room with a huge round oak dining table and modern units with an 'Aga', where organic (usually) breakfast is served and afternoon tea and cake are available.
There's a comfy sitting room next door to that, with a woodburning stove and a grand piano.

The rooms....we stayed in 2 of them over 5 days...... were a good standard with lots of nice old tables and chairs...all well cared for, and good quality bathrooms.

Looking out of the windows, you are surrounded by views of the gardens, pond and old farm buildings...and the only noise you hear is wildlife......Nuthatches, woodpeckers and tits are constantly attending to a selection of bird feeders outside the kitchen window and a couple of mallard were nesting behind the milk churn beside the kitchen door.

Up the road and also belonging to the owner is the 'Light House' ... a newly built, and internally impressive oak framed house that looks (we had a look around it) to be excellent as self catering accommodation for families or groups.

Walking from the farm itself , or along the Malvern hills after a short drive to a starting point are both easy to do, and Stratford, the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean are all close enough for trips out.
This was a really relaxing place to be, a real 'home from home' and we were very well looked after.
