“Central Malvern Hotel”

Have stayed here many times as it's a great location in the heart of Malvern. I have never had any major cause for complaint other than for one stay we were in the modern annexe of the building and found it quite cold in the Winter. The hotel has lots of character and is in a beautiful setting in the town centre. Disabled parking can be a little tricky if this is of major importance to you due to limited spaces in the immediate vicinity of the entrance.
Breakfast is of high quality and with lots of choice. Very dog friendly too.

First impressions of this hotel are very good, The car Park is perhaps too far away, but the reception is friendly and the room was inviting. There were no complaints about the cleanliness, both within the room and also the bathroom and the bed was quite comfortable. The real problem here that this is a rather old building with an awful and very unattractive newer building at it's side and in spite of the fact that this hotel is situated at the end of a cul-de-sack any noise from the road can be heard and the wooden floors do not really offer peace and quiet after a busy day. I dare not say anything of the architect of the annexe, but double glazing and air-conditioning should have been a must. The dining room was also somewhat disappointing though the evening meal was o.k. The breakfast was a rather poor buffet affair, and whilst it was quite tasty, the coffee and tea were not and the general presentation should be improved. Overall the staff was friendly though a bit slow and with a bit of effort this hotel would be worth it's 4 Stars as it is, I would only award 3Stars at best. Nevertheless I did enjoy my stay and I will be back.

Room Tip: Better choose a room to the back than to the front!

Booked this hotel as a quick google search threw it up, and we had hoped to go to Devon but spent two half days in A&E so went nearer home. We should have gone with out gut feelings when we got a frosty reception, and we asked to pay for the B7B upfront. This we duly did and followed instructions to our room. Well I have just checked before doing this review on their website and looked at all levels of rooms, and if our was a standard I'll eat my hat. My side of the bed had a small wardrobe, the other side had a bedside table. There was suppose to be a seating area, but where I don't know. We had to dance around the suitcase as there was no where for it to go. The windows only opened an inch so the room was too hot. The pillows were rock hard; and if I touch the hot towel rail once whilst 'sitting in the bathroom' I touched it a dozen times. Our meal was OK but two other parties were submitting complaints about their meals. We then went for a drink in the lounge and were expected to settle the account as and when we had drinks, something we have never come across before.

Room Tip: If our room was meant to be a standard room, but it looks nothing like the photo on the website I do...

We booked a 2 night break for our wedding anniversary. On arrival people were drinking and smoking on front steps like a pub and we wished we had not prepaid! Entrance hall grubbly, Room large and bed comfy, Damp on the ceiling and wall. Restaurant was awful Was like going into a sevice station! No cloths or serviettes for evening and no way you felt right to dress up for a special dinner. My meal was inedible and I refused to pay. My husbands was luke warm. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of choice but all very luke warm. A wedding held on night two kept us awake til 3 30 am with revels outside, not stopped by the staff. We ate out the second night in a hotel nearby and were given a meal to remember and service second to none. Totally disapponted with the Abbey

Room Tip: Dont stay over the new area where weddings held

I found this hotel on Late Rooms and it was great value for money. Very friendly staff and a lovely menu. In the heart of Malvern and a beautiful building. Very picturesque town and some lovely walks close by.

We called up on the off chance that they may have a room free. Had good expectations when we were told that a standard room B&B was £100 per room per night. (Close to double the price we were offered as a one off deal to stay in the three star Great Malvern Hotel on a previous night.) It was frankly just not worth the money. From what we have heard the place earned the local nickname of 'the shabby Abbey' for a good reason - our £100 room was worse than your average premier inn style room. The room was so hot we could not sleep and much smaller and far more unattractive than one would expect for the price. The only plus points were one member of staff who was polite and helpful on checking in and the buffet breakfast - but as regular visitors of Malvern and frequenters of hotels and B&B's in the area I can assure you that it is not worth the money. The Great Malvern Hotel and the Foley Arms Hotel have much nicer rooms at a much better value than £100 per night - will never be staying here again!!!!

Room Tip: Either get a better than good deal for the chain, try another hotel or be ripped off

I booked this hotel as a surprise 3-night stay for my husbands birthday. I also booked in some friends of ours who came to celebrate his birthday on the Saturday. Out of 9 adults none of us could fault the hotel. In particular the staff were very helpful and friendly, and seemed genuinely to care that we had a good time. This was the second occasion we had stayed there and the hotel was very clean and comfortable both times. The drapes and upholstery are very good quality giving the rooms a sumptuous feel; the bedrooms are spacious with high ceilings and the bathrooms are large and spotlessly clean. Excellent buffet breakfast; the staff kindly organised a table for 9 for our breakfast on the Sunday. The location is, as many have said, excellent for the town and for the hills - we took advantage of both. Overall we were very well impressed with everything at the Abbey and would recommend it. We had a meal at another similarly rated hotel which was lovely, but the prices to stay were considerably more, so I believe the Abbey also represents good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms in the old part of the hotel seem to be the best.
