“Victorian dignity”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

There was a bridge that links this wonderful station to a nearby hotel where people used to come for water treatment.

There is a wonderful little tea bar where you can have coffee and cakes at a very reasonable price. This example of Victorian architecture is well worth a visit. Note the painted leaves on the columns.

It has not been demeaned or spoiled and you can easily imagine a steam train coming in from its journey from London. There is direct line to Paddington and services are fast and frequent. Well worth a day out from London but do book your tickets in advance for a reasonable price.

This is a really classy area and loads to do.

“Pity it was just a "Brief Encounter"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

Me and my daughter visited Great Malvern yesterday for the first time and we had the most wonderful day, in a beautiful place. Whilst waiting for our train home at the exquisite Victorian Station, we visited the tea rooms there. Imagine, the scenes from the film Brief Encounter, and you will understand just how atmospheric and totally enchanting they are. It was like walking through the door and being transported back in time to halcyon days. The quietness, the decor and even the lady serving all added to the ambience. Everything in there was mesmerising. You seemed enraptued in another time.

Then, the old fashioned clock in there, said it was time for us to leave, my train was due, oh what a pity !

“A classic piece of Victorian Railway architecture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

This is a very atmospheric station, which takes one back to the Victorian era. Well used by the gentry from London and elsewhere who came to partake of the water therapies, which were immensely popular at that time. Great Malvern station holds several unusual features, which would be of interest to railway enthusiasts.

“quaint old station”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2014

The actual station was closed to the public as we visited on a Sunday. The exterior is old and has a nice old fashioned atmosphere to it. It appears to be a working station
