I was made to feel so welcome by Mark and Alice, the owners. The room was luxurious but still very cosy indeed. The breakfast over looking the duck pond is a real treat. Pretty close to everything that's happening in Malvern too. Might bring the family back for a spot of cycling! No gripes at all.

Another great week, this time spent in the peaceful surroundings of the "Malvern Retreat". Nothing was too much for our hosts Mark and Al. As we stayed in the main house last time the only thing missing this time was the gorgeous breakfast...we had to cook our own. The accomodation was spacious, well appointed and very quiet. We were lucky enough to have some good weather so spent time sun bathing in our own private garden. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Malvern look no further.

This is a really, really lovely place to stay if you're visiting anywhere around the Malverns. The house is gorgeous - homely, stylish, tasteful. My room (Nightingale) was smallish, but beautifully furnished and equipped, with lovely view over garden and magnolia tree, with everything I could possibly want or need. Extra brownie points for bathrobes hanging in the wardrobe, and very nice body lotion in the little bathroom cabinet. Lots of little touches in the room (a little wooden heart propped on the window sill saying "Sweet Dreams" that make you feel that the people who own this home love it and love what they do. They have bigger rooms, so it just depends what you want.
There's a very comfortable downstairs lounge, with a well-stocked 'honesty' bar (you just put in the book what you've taken) or they will put a bottle of wine in your room for you. There's a large conservatory connected to the lounge, also very comfortable, where I was able to sit and read in the sun. And of course plenty of space to sit in the very nice garden, which has loads of trees. Upstairs, even the landing is spacious, comfortable, stylish and homely, like another room.with loads & loads of books (lots of detective novels and travel books) and DVDs (to watch on the DVD player in your room) and a helpful sign giving you the WiFi password, which is available free throughout the house. Lots of information leaflets there too.
Breakfast was amazing. I'm not surprised it's won awards. Lovely selection of fresh fruit, in a salad or on its own, yogurt, lots of cereals to choose from, and a wonderful cooked "all the works" breakfast, with eggs laid by the hens in the garden (I'd just been out to visit them...) and thick bacon slices. Then lots of toast and selection of home-made jams). I invited 2 guests (not staying at Treherne) to join me for breakfast, and they felt exactly the same as me. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Alex and Mark to make you feel welcome and cared-for. There is a also self-catering annexe next to the main house and this will sleep 4+. It's 5 minutes into Great Malvern, which has lots to offer. (If you're here on Saturday go to the Theatre of Small Convenience!) But you don't need to go up into the Malverns for great walks - it's very pretty countryside all around Treherne, with the hills to the west and the River Severn to the east. And loads of nice pubs around to eat and drink in. I went in May, when of course everything is beautiful, but I imagine Treherne would be a very cosy and comfortable place to stay in the winter too - oh, another nice touch, a big tray on the floor under the wardrobe in the bedroom to put your muddy boots on!

Room Tip: It would be difficult to imagine any of the rooms in this beautifully cared-for B&B to be anything other than lovely, each with their own little touches.

We have just spent two very comfortable nights at this wonderful B&B. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and we were made to feel very welcome from the start. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and made even better by the use of local produce, the eggs were very local indeed, just from down the garden! Our only regret was that we weren't staying for longer and we are already planning a return trip for next year.
