We loved it here! An array of real ale (£3.40 a pint). And THE PIES!!! OMG delicious! I had the 'Mr Kevin Vegan' and my husband had a chicken and ham pie - both served with mash, gravy & Peas. Excellent value at £9.50. We are tourists to the area but will definitely visit here again before we return home

Thank Kim G

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. We stopped for a pint intending to go somewhere else to eat BUT the beer was so nice - And a good selection at only £3.40 a pint. Their Pie and mash menu had plenty of choices including vegan which my wife. They were delicious! Will definitely come here again.

Not only does this pub have lots of real ales on tap and a couple of real ciders (you must try Robinson's Flagon) but also the best pies. Reasonably priced and incredibly tasty, vegetarian options available too.
In addition the pub is such a wonky (literally: watch your drinks slide on the table upstairs if you aren't careful) old gem steeped in history with a little log burner perfect in the winter. It also has a loyalty scheme if you buy Craddock's beers.
Dog friendly. A pub quiz on Tuesday nights too.
The only thing missing is a beer garden for the summer months, but otherwise the Charles II is the perfect pub.

Well this is going to be like dreaming of rare beef sandwiches with Colman's mustard or Vegetarian alfalfa, Vegetarian cheese with Veggiemite flavoured Nut Roast with sliced almonds and Avacardo with a drizzle to your chouse or "jue" ? If that's how you spell it Rodney?? So where am l ? I'm having a half of Lager then going off to my next Hostilary, talk to you later, if I've had too much it will be tomorrow Grommit jr
