This is the place to go for the best value Sunday lunch in Worcester, with several choices of meat and a wide selection of vegetables, with 'home cooked' puds to follow, all beautifully cooked! The weekday menu is comprehensive and also excellent value. Add to this a welcoming, friendly and obliging staff and you really do have the whole package!

For good, hearty, down to earth home cooking, excellent portion sizes and surprisingly low prices you can't do better. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. As an example i had the all day breakfast off their saver menu two days ago. The plate was enormous - much bigger than a normal dinner plate - and it needed to be. A giant sausage. Two thick back bacon rashers. Fresh mushrooms. Fresh tomato. Black pudding. Egg. Hash brown. Bread and butter. I passed on the baked beans and was asked what i would like more of to replace them. All for £4.50. All delicious. The saver menu is more than enough for me (and i don't eat like a sparrow). I've never dared order full size! Can't recommend highly enough for basic, honest food and service.

The Alma is a friendly pub that also offers good food and beer.

Ihave eaten this years Xmas Lunch ( 3 of us) and the Xmas Dinner (8 of us). Both were excellent meals and much appreciated by all diners.

Terrific value for money - my compliments to the Chef and all the staff.

The Alma Tavern looks a bit rough from the outside but is totally different when you walk through the doors. The decor is nice although still like a pub and the menu is nice with good food.

Overpriced bar. poor quality food poorly cooked.
We ordered three steaks medium rare all came well done , I told the waitress/bar person who offered to take them back to the "chef" however, at that point other members of the group had started to eat so declined the offer. We expected a member of staff to come me over to the table as it was obvious we had finished to at least offer some sort of conpensation or a refund of the £3.00 surcharge we incurred for ordering steak in the first place!
This didn't happen so ended up asking for the refund myself.
The pub is in need of a total refurb and a good clean.
