“not what it used to be shame”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2014 via mobile

This used to be a popular place to go and have a good value for money meal.
What a shame it is that a long standing place has took a turn for the worse.
A few years back the staff were on the ball and the meals well cooked and quick service.Food on the menu were not avalible on some dishes.and poorly presented.prices were okay but a bit of training on the staff and kitchen is needed.
Just get it back to the old days as it was 6/7 years ago.I will give it another try in the future to see if it has improved. So please bring it back to as it was.this is a pub with a lot of history within worcester.

“Very amateurish cooking; disappointing, not even up to average standard.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013

Don't know what's happened to the chef/s, but this Xmas meal was notably lacking in festive verve...Nut roast seemed to have been thrown together and reheated over and over. Members of party who had meat were given very small, cold portions. Broccolli was ok, but other vegetables seemed old, aged and worn out. Gravy was tasteless. Very liberal use of pepper was needed to perk up the whole sad selection... Everyone left half of food on their plates, even mother-in-law's partner, who normally has seconds and heaps his plate like it's his last meal for a week. My chair, incidentally, looked like a large dog had taken a bite out of it. Rip-off...

“Could have been better.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2013

Had a family meal here and really could not fault the food. however the reason for the average mark is mainly the staff. They are keen and polite but sadly a bit amateurish, from the guy who took our order and even though we pointed to the item on the menu he still got it wrong. The waitress who served our dessert and gave us a soup spoon. Then when we asked for a liqueur coffee that caused a great deal of confusion and three members of staff got involved. Overall we had a pleasant evening, but I think some staff training is needed.
