This hotel is obviously very new, the restaurant and some of the rooms overlook the county cricket ground. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless, the food was excellent, including the full English! A good centre to visit Worcester and the Malverns. Probably the best Premier Inn we have stayed in.

This is the best Premier Inn we've ever stayed in. Brand new and spotlessly clean. It was like we were the first people to stay in the room.

The soundproofing was exceptional, we were only on the first floor but never heard a single noise from outside or from any other guests. Very good for a Premier Inn.

Only negative was the car park. They emailed the day before to say their own car park was closed so we had to park nearby. It was a "special rate" but we could have done without the walk.

Great location, good breakfast, comfy beds and the usual friendly welcome and good value you've come to expect from Premier Inn. Worcester needed a good hotel and now it's got one :-) Might be a bit close to the river when it floods though?

Worcester's Premier Inn sits strident beside the Severn at the top of the county cricket ground. Muse from the river bridge on the splendour of city's swannery and Cathedral and then turn your head to see the stark modernity of this hotel.
The road entrance to the hotel is easily missed after crossing the river which means a traipse round the one way system to take a second effort at driving in. The associated car park is run by a separate company and is shared with the cricket ground which means it can fill up on match days. This means overnight guests face a £4.50 parking charge on top of the reasonable hotel rates.
Inside it does the job slickly and well. The desk is manned for 24hours a day although you may have to ring and wait to attract attention of desk staff. Check-in was uncomplicated. A card gets visitors into their rooms but also gives access to the guest area and the lift.
The room was large and reasonably stocked. There was no fridge but tea- and coffee-making equipment was supplied. There was a hairdryer, two bath towels but only one hand towel for two guests. A second was supplied on request even though only one was supplied as a matter of policy.
The only initial shock was the pervasive smell of air-freshener which we were unable to dispel by opening a window. A notice informed us that fresh air was constantly recycled so the window was sealed.
But these are small carps. The bed was as comfortable as Lenny Henry insists in all the television ads. His presence was emphasised in a number of brochures scattered around the room. The promise of a good night's rest was only partially fulfilled since, although the bed was good, the high tog duvet led to early morning overheating.
We ate both supper and continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The bar area here offers a wonderful view of the cricket pitch and I could imagine it athrong on match days. The food was limited but reasonable. A hunter's chicken was charred into surface hardness but a hot dog dish pleased my wife. A bottle of special offer wine cost under £13. A shared Eton Berry Mess pudding was fun. Breakfast was plentiful. I noted that the compote on offer appeared to be the same as that used in the mess.
We stayed for just one night en route across country, but the position of the hotel meant we were able to manage the city sights on foot during our stay. Wonderful Worcester Cathedral was a five minute walk away along the river and reached by the River Gate we were able to take in the many floods noted there.
Well placed, reasonably priced and slickly presented, there is only a little that makes me knock a star off a full rating this Premier Inn.
